Can't have too much vram...

MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card N660TI TF 3GD5/OC
MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card N660TI TF 3GD5/OC

Pros: Symmetric address space for the 660 ti memory controllers: 1G per each of the three 64 bit controllers, which yields more VRAM than I'll ever need for a single HD monitor set up. The TF cooler: effective and quiet even at stressing performance levels. Ripping good performance; ability to OC VRAM and clock to achieve a stable 10% boost over the out-of-box performance. Ideal for SLI cards driving huge resolutions.

Cons: The TF cooler exhausts its heat into your case (but nothing that decent case ventilation can't handle). I know this is a super tiny con but it's worth mentioning somewhere.

Overall Review: The only reason I went with this card over the MSI PE edition was that a local retailer had it on sale, along with a rebate, which took over 20% off the egg's asking price. Upgraded my 2 year old MSI gtx 560 ti TF whose primary fault was its (now paltry) 1GB. Hopefully 3GB will have some long term staying power. BTW, the 660 ti performance clearly outclasses the 560 ti and I'm immensely enjoying that too.

Most Critical Review

Terribly Low Mic Input

Creative 70SB073A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
Creative 70SB073A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

Pros: Great sound on my Asus A8N-SLI. No problems with clicking sounds here. The 3D EAX expansion with good stereo headphones is more realistic sounding than my 5.1 headphones that have 8 drivers.

Cons: Mic input level is TOO LOW, even at max recording level and with mic db boost. LOTS of users have complained to Creative about this with no avail.

Overall Review: Consider this problem if you plan to use this card for multiplayer gaming. To use my mic I almost have it in my mouth. With the onboard, my mic could be sitting on my desktop and still work fine.

errata for my 'warm up' review below

ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: see my original review

Cons: see my original review

Overall Review: I noticed the OC voltages in my 'warm up' review are not correct (dang, I hate those tiny text entry boxes and lack of a preview mode). The corrected values are: OC at 4.5/4.3 using 1.19v/1.16v not hyperthreaded and 1.21v/1.19v (hyperthreaded). Sorry about my oops. I definitely don't want anyone to try the voltages I originally gave; they'd literally burn out the processor instantly.

Decent mid-grade performance

MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card N650TI-1GD5/V1
MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card N650TI-1GD5/V1

Pros: Plays latest games at 1680x1050 with reasonably high settings and acceptable performance. Very good band/buck ratio if you got the card on sale with the rebate.

Cons: Fan shroud is at best 100% cosmetic and basically useless otherwise; seems to be something they had lying about from a different card. Would have much preferred the nvidia stock shroud which at least attempts to direct most of the heat exhaust out of your case.

Overall Review: Got this card to breath gaming life into my backup system which had a 8800 gts 512. Mission accomplished, though by cheaping out, due to the excellent sale price, I'm stuck with more hot air in the case than before the upgrade.

Works for DV camcorder capture

SYBA 2 Ports PCI-E IEEE 1394A Firewire Card Model SY-PEX30001
SYBA 2 Ports PCI-E IEEE 1394A Firewire Card Model SY-PEX30001

Pros: Works great for capturing DV video from my Sony DV camcorder using Premiere Elements 10 on Win7. Its on-card header provides support for cases with a front panel firewire port. Comes with a standard sized DV cable that one might spend half the price of this card to buy from a local shop.

Cons: I had to use the bottom most pci-e slot in my mobo since when the case front panel firewire connector is plugged in the header, the connector obstructs the slot below the card. If the header was angled 90 degrees this would not have been an issue (I own a sound card with such an angled on-card header for front panel audio connector). No provided software CD.

Overall Review: I had to install the driver found online to get the card to work; it was simple to get from the vendor's web site. This card completes my new i7 computer build; seems firewire has been dropped from contemporary mobo designs (no big surprise). For the price, even with its funky header, getting this card was a no-brainer for me.

Amazing Performance for the Price

SAMSUNG 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model MV-3V4G3D/US
SAMSUNG 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Desktop Memory Model MV-3V4G3D/US

Pros: Bang for buck performance is untouchable considering the overclocks these kits will reach. Spec'ed run at both 1.35v and 1.5v. Super low profile that has to be seen to be believed.

Cons: None. Complaining about its packaging is silly IMO; it's not a problem if you got a good pair of scissors to cut around the blister packs.

Overall Review: This stuff works great in my aging Asus P7P55D mobo with an i7 860. Running it rock solid stable at 2076 (12x173) 10-10-10-28 t1 @1.5v. Can hit a lower CAS at higher volts but the tiny performance gain isn't worth it IMO.
