SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1,000:1, US Warranty
SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1,000:1, US Warranty

Pros: First of all, I didn't find any dead pixels! The 1680x1050 display was bright, clear, and crisp. Right now, I'm using it in analog mode, but I can't wait to see what it looks like in DVI. (remember it uses DVI-D) The soft blue lighting that spells out: SCEPTRE on the front bottom, doesn't look bad either. If the monitor looses the signal, it turns from blue to red. Cool! Plus, I think my NVIDIA 8800 likes it to! They make a perfect couple.

Cons: 1. I wish the stand was a little taller. However, that can easily be corrected to the owner's taste. 2. No DVI cable! What were they thinking!? Other than that, no other problems so far.

Overall Review: I've been shopping with NewEgg since they had local stores called Eggheads, and they've always seemed to amaze me with their service. I ordered this monitor with the standard 3 day shipping, and I got it almost the next day!! That's fast! I upgraded from a Microtek C893 18", and the SCEPTRE X20 is like night and day. What a vast improvement. Unbelievably bright and clear. Wow! Remember how your eyes felt when you first upgraded your old 15" CRT?! Yea, you'll get the same sensation with this monitor. Do your eyes a favor and purchase this monitor from Newegg. It might even arrive the next day!

A decent case but lacking.

Cooler Master ELITE 335 RC-335-KKN1-GP Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Cooler Master ELITE 335 RC-335-KKN1-GP Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: 1. easy to setup 2. plenty of bays 3. (2) front usb w/ audio hookip 4. easy to mod 5. love the "one twist" drive lock-in brackets 6. great airflow

Cons: 1. panel airflow scoop 2. no clear side panel. 3. 80 or 120mm front fan support, but no front fan. (have 2 buy seperately) 4. flimsy and easy to damage

Overall Review: It's a desent case, with great airflow. It does not come with a front fan. You have to buy one. I put a blue led 120mm in mine. However, it does have a 120mm rear fan. The side panel has a large black airflow scoop, that won't allow you to close the case, due to your video card or cpu heatsink. So take it off, and install another fan. It's a tight case, so if you have large hands, be prepared to use some four-letter-words. Especially, when hooking up the front panel wiring. To be honest, I thought about sending it back to NewEgg. I kinda felt embarrassed installing an i7 setup in this case. If I could do it all over again, I would not purchase this case. But it does the job and I'm somewhat pleased for right now.

I'm honestly impressed!

ASRock H55M Pro LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock H55M Pro LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: 1. easy to setup. great owners manual. 2. (5) sata inputs 3. supports intel's turbo-boost 4. (4) ram slots up to 16gb 5. hdmi and optical out 6. plenty of usb headers 7. instant boot (+-5 second boot) 8. one click overclocking from bios. 9. instant bios flash

Cons: none so far.

Overall Review: My former 775 XFX board's IDE port crashed, which gave me an excuse to upgrade my core2duo rig. Anyway, my last two builds, were full size atx boards. This time, I wanted to build a fast rig, but downsize some of the hardware. After doing about a month of extensive research, the H55 pro came out on top. This is an awesome board! I dropped the i7-870 in, 6 gigs of ram, and she booted right up, with no problems. I'm running Windows 7, and I haven't had a single problem. Forget sli or x-fire; the H55 won't cut it. Go with the P55 board. Speed Freak!

Intel Core i7-870 - Core i7 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.93 GHz LGA 1156 95W Processor - BX80605I7870
Intel Core i7-870 - Core i7 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.93 GHz LGA 1156 95W Processor - BX80605I7870

Pros: 1. definately 4 cores! 2. easy to overclock to 3.7mhz+ and more! 3. relatively stable in high temps 4. 8mb of L2 cache 5. built-in Turbo-Boost technology 6. intel quality 7. cheap price for such a high-end cpu

Cons: 1. wish I had two of 'em !

Overall Review: Super fast cpu! Loads Windows 7 in under 10 seconds! Chocked with transistors, and only a little bit slower than the 980X. Going from a core2duo to an i7-870 is like a poodle vs a pit bull! However, there are some mean poodles out there. But anyway, buy the chip and go faster! Finally, do yourself a favor and invest in an aftermarket heatlink/cooler.

Awesome power and quiet to!

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply & New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply & New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 1. Lots of power 2. Modern look 3. Completely sleeved 4. Single 12v rail delivering 52 amps! 5. Corsair quality! 6. Quiet thermally cooled 120mm fan. 7. Active PFC

Cons: Absolutely none!

Overall Review: After my new i7-870 build, I knew I needed to step my game up. My previous psu, the Enermax 535w, was great, but not nearly as nice as the Corsair. This psu really fits the build. Plenty of wires, all are sleeved, and the install was flawless. I really liked the way Corsair allowed four sata power plugs on a single line. This setup was perfect, since I have three hard drives. I'm really enjoying the Corsair. My old Enermax psu had two 80mm fans that could sometimes get loud. The Corsair uses a single 120mm fan and it's a lot quieter. Finally, with a single rail psu, you don't have to worry about your setup, as much as the dual rails. I highly recommend this psu.

It really works if you can get it on!?

Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version
Cooler Master Hyper 101i - CPU Cooler with Dual Direct Contact Heatpipes - AMD Version

Pros: 1. It does work. Keeps my I7-870 @ 36 deg in idle 2. It's inexpensive

Cons: 1. The included thermal paste is garbage! It speads like bondo! 2. The bracket design is flawed. (get rid of the plastic snaps!) 3. Extremely difficult to install, even for levels above novice. 4. The plastic clips are extremely easy to bend, which prevents them from lining up correctly in their respective holes (775 or 1156)

Overall Review: This cooler is definately temporary. I really don't trust the flawed bracket system. Considering the amount of speed and heat generated by todays cpu's; I think all heatsinks should have metal brackets, that screw in. But I have no one to blame but myself, Mr. Cheap Charlie. Never-the-less, I plan to upgrade within the next couple of days. However, I gave the H-100 4 eggs because it really does work. Way 2 go CoolerMaster!
