Incorrect Compatibility Information from Corsair

CORSAIR Vengeance Performance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX3M2B1600C9
CORSAIR Vengeance Performance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX8GX3M2B1600C9

Pros: Nice packaging, nice graphics on RAM stickers. Could not evaluate product functionality at all because it did not work in my laptop.

Cons: Does not work as specified. Ordered after using Corsair's Memory Finder for my Lenovo Thinkpad X201 laptop. Shows up as compatible. It is not. After installation, failed to boot either Windows 7 or Linux Mint 17. Running Memtest86+ got a failure/hard lockup immediately. Putting original RAM back in booted immediately with no issues. Attempted to boot using just a single Corsair SODIMM in the laptop with the same results on OS boots and Memtest86+.

Overall Review: Specifically checked that this RAM was compatible with the laptop I owned and Corsair's website listed it as the correct choice. It is not compatible and the information provided is misleading causing the purchase and subsequent return of the product. This is the main reason for the 1-star review.

No wireless on Linux

Foxconn nT-i2847 Intel NM70 Mini / Booksize Barebone System
Foxconn nT-i2847 Intel NM70 Mini / Booksize Barebone System

Pros: Very nice small form factor pc/server that is great for special projects. Have installed multiple distro's of Linux on this and all devices have been recognized. Dual Core CPU for work where one core just won't keep up.

Cons: Shortcomings are only one DIMM slot so 4G is your max choice for this box. Broken Intel Centrino-N wireless. Multiple Linux Distro's and multiple Intel Driver updates do not fix. Wireless card is on the back of the motherboard so it cannot be removed and replaced.

Overall Review: Product is designed as a TV/LCD set back media server. As such it is a failure. This need requires working wireless to avoid ethernet cables down the walls which you won't get with this product without replacing the Centrino-N wireless card with either another card or a USB dongle (what I'm going to have to do). The broken wireless is a core Intel issue with the Centrino-N wireless line. The people in the Intel forums are close to rioting over it (go read for yourself). Foxconn Support Team how can this defective wireless card be removed and replaced? Working 802.11b/g wireless is 54mbit/sec faster than broken non-working 802.11n wireless.
