e-vga 8800gts 640
Pros: Smooth graphics.
Cons: Big card at 9" x 1.5" Covers the chipset hsf and 2 sata connectors of a foxconn uAtx nf4 motherboard. Processor limmited with 2.2ghz venice
Overall Review: You need a fast processor and good memory bandwidth for this card. It's a little underpowered with a venice at 2.2ghz Make sure your motherboard chipset and drive headers are not obscured before buying. You might need a different motherboard layout to take advantage of sata raid and/or aftermarket motherboard chipset coolers/watercooling, the gts is 9" long, it may cover these features of your motherboard.. I heard these cards have some slowdowns out of the box, that Foxconn 640 gts's are not supposed to have.
benq xl2720z black 144
Pros: big, fast for games, run it at 120hz no dead pixels very good gaming monitor for the price. was on sale.. recommended it to a gamer friend n he baught several of them.. I ended up with two running side by side..
Cons: only cons unpacking took a while to remove all the protective tape on the stand and shiny bits..
Overall Review: definately recomment this montor for gamers at 1080p it runs 144hz, I run it at 120 hz for most game, it's fast and great picture/image.. only have to tune the settings for color and low blue light.. when looking at photo's for photography, the color isn't quite right.. I have an old dell 19" standard aspect ultrasharp sitting on the side to plug in and compare images for photography/printing. for gaming at 1080p 1920x1080 at 120hz it's top notch.
raidmax black atx aluminum with the Z
Pros: Lightweight alluminum construction throughout, quick drive installation tray's, PSU is up out of the way of the processor. Interesting style
Cons: Didn't survive UPS.. The PSU mount was ripped off in shipping and the back top of the case and side panels were pushed in about 1/4" the whole case was knocked out of square. I didn't have the patients to talk to anyone about it or to re-order, so I got out the deadblow mallet and some anvil's to reshape the corners. Something odd, it looks like the case was repainted, there's a layer of metalic green under the black, and then where there were scratches all over the side of the front panel hinge, someone pencilled them in with a Sharpie to hide the scratches, not very cool in my book.
Overall Review: If you use this with a VGA card that has the rear slot exit coolers, like the newer ati/nvidia products, you will need to reverse the flow of the side panel cooling fan.
