Great value
Pros: Balanced presentation top to bottom, engaging detail without being annoying, impressive bass output. Ridiculous sound quality for the money
Cons: Only one so far is I noticed a buzz in one speaker during a particular bass frequency. Removed grill and gone. This was at a decent volume level. I haven't been able to get the plugs out of the binding posts for bananas yet- they're IN there.
Overall Review: For the price these are a steal. One reviewer mentioned veiled mids- I'm not hearing it on my system, but everyone's equipment and rooms are different. I've had many speakers over the years, some costing thousands and no, these don't better them. They are, however, pleasant sounding, fun to listen to and a super value. HIGHLY recommended
Comments: Used this board to build an inexpensive computer for a relative- just loaded Windows today with absolutely no problems. Used Athlon XP 2000+ and PC2100 256mb Crucial. Wish the manual had the BIOS setup, but it was easy enough to find on the Biostar website. Can't beat this board for the price and for what it does. Thanks, NEWEGG!!! I will update this review if I encounter any glitches.
Comments: I'm only giving this case a "four" because you get what you pay for, and for $24. you get a case worth $24. Very flimsy, easily bent panels, power supply support is very cheesy, which allowed the weight of the power supply to bend the back panel during shipping. I don't much care for the drive mounts- only screws on one side and just tensions against the drives on the other- not very secure. I sliced my finger on the sharp stamped metal panel trying to pry the floppy bezel out- be careful!! No internal speaker. Again, for the price, this is a usable, decent looking case- just don't set it down hard or you'll have yourself a parallelogram.....
Comments: You get what you pay for. Anyone purchasing this and expecting to get a PS that would run more than a basic system is being unrealistic. I used it for a 900mhz Linux system I built with an older Epox board I was given and it works fine. I wouldn't try to build a gaming system in it. Yes, it's flimsy, sharp, etc., but for $35. it's not bad.
Comments: A small addition to my earlier review: this is a good board for word processing, web surfing, etc. DO NOT expect to run anything other than basic games on this. I ran 3DMark2001SE on this w/512mb of PC133 memory and got a pathetic 478, w/ framerates averaging ~5fps on a lot of tests. Thank goodness it has an AGP slot.... (BTW- 1700+ processor) In contrast to this, I have another machine w/ the ASUS A7N266-VM AA, same processor and 512mb of PC2100 memory and it scored 1750. Still poor, but substantially better. Does the 2100 memory make that much difference? Or is it a combination of that & the GeForce2 graphics? Anywho.... This is still a good board for the price. Thanks for emptying my pockets, NewEgg.....
Comments: I bought this card and had trouble w/ nuisance crashes. If you're experiencing similar problems, go to the NVidia website & download the most recent GeForce drivers. Not only did it fix the problem, I scored an additional 500 pts on 3DMark2001SE! GREAT CARD!!!!
