I love it

SONY Laptop VAIO NR Series Intel Pentium T2370 2GB Memory 160GB HDD Intel GMA X3100 15.4" Windows Vista Home Premium VGN-NR330E/S
SONY Laptop VAIO NR Series Intel Pentium T2370 2GB Memory 160GB HDD Intel GMA X3100 15.4" Windows Vista Home Premium VGN-NR330E/S

Pros: Punch for the buck rating is HIGH. Keyboard doesn't flex, has nice feel to the keys, case is wonderful, study as a rock, the hinges are so strong that this lappy doesn't even have a latch to keep the screen down. Two USB ports on both sides (4 total), WiFi works really well, have yet to see a dead pixel (knock on wood). The card readers come in handy since my camera and my PPC both use SD cards.

Cons: Screen is glossy, makes it hard to see it outside or by a window. (But most laptops have that now, why?) No PCMCIA port, but there is an Express Card slot. The hot air vent is right next to where I use my mouse (right-handed) so number crunching and be uncomfortable for the computer AND me.

Overall Review: The DVD drive is on the opposite side than I've traditionally seen, but this is good as I'm right handed and plug in a mouse when I'm at home. I didn't know Vista used so much memory, an upgrade option would have been nice, but not necessary. Then again, my computer that I've been using since 10th grade has a 1.2 Ghz and 256MB...so I guess I'm easily pleased.

IOGEAR GKM561R Black 2.4GHz Wireless HTPC Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel
IOGEAR GKM561R Black 2.4GHz Wireless HTPC Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel

Pros: Intuitive Mouse/Keyboard combo (use mouse while holding board) Great battery life Easy for the whole house to use

Cons: The mouse ball is somewhat loose, must maintain contact on the bottom.

Overall Review: Been in constant use 2+ years by whole family. Everyone likes it.

Job done cheap

SABRENT SBT-ESU25 Aluminum 2.5" IDE USB 2.0 External Enclosure
SABRENT SBT-ESU25 Aluminum 2.5" IDE USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Pros: Works, power from USB, aluminum is protective, screws (cheap) screwdriver driver disk and (cheap) leather case included, Hi Speed USB

Cons: Weird cable (male to male with a male in the middle), so the enclosure only accepts a male USB port, limited in the number of cables you can use to connect (not the typical mini A or B's that are everywhere). Again, wrap the drive in paper or it will rattle around, the only connection points are the data pins (yikes).

Overall Review: weird cable and need a "secure" mod of paper but with power over USB, cheap, and does get the job done, it works.

Seagate ST303204N1A1A-RK 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Hard Drive Retail
Seagate ST303204N1A1A-RK 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Hard Drive Retail

Pros: It works.

Cons: Its not solid state. :D

Overall Review: Its a hard drive. 25cents a Gb with a trusted company name seemes like a good value to me.

Rosewill RNA-U100W (Generation II) Universal Notebook Power Adapter 100W
Rosewill RNA-U100W (Generation II) Universal Notebook Power Adapter 100W

Pros: Fit my computer, had the right voltage for my laptop. My mom's charger went out the day after I got it, so it was good to have on hand.

Cons: The voltage increments and integers, a lot of laptops in my house use x.5 volts. Doesn't remember the last voltage you used when you plug it in again, you have to remember yourself and push the button-again.

Overall Review: Bought it to be a backup and used it the next day. Pretty simple to use, just make sure that you use the right voltage so you don't fry something.
