Great drive, use latest imaging software
Pros: Fast, does SMART properly
Cons: Make sure you use the latest Acronis hard drive copying software.
Overall Review: As a computer repairman I go through a lot of SSDs. Only three manufacturer's do SMART properly and this is one of them. The others can give errors on boot, don't fulfill the capability list they present or won't log properly. Older versions of Seagate DiscWizard, Acronis WD Edition or Acronis True Image will see this drive as unsupported. Download the latest version. Parted Magic also works fine for duplicating.
good mouse but usb only
Pros: This is a good mouse, tracks well, feels good.
Cons: The description is wrong. It is USB only and does not have the PS2 converter.
just plain bizarre
Pros: it fits in the socket
Cons: reversing cables caused one drive to disappear, problematic drivers
Overall Review: It worked fine in Linux but the Windows drivers are worthless. If I switched the cables when backing up from a 500GB to a 1TB drive, the 1TB drive would not appear. But if I booted into Linux it was fine. I went on a treasure hunt for drivers, and found three. One of them worked, but I wouldn't depend on this card for critical data. BTW I have 45 years experience in the computer business so I actually know what I am doing.
sometimes fails to turn
Pros: quiet
Cons: about half of them would sometimes not startup
Overall Review: I bought a bunch of these and found that about half of them would occasionally fail to start turning. Easy to test which ones will fail by gently touching the fan center and stopping it. If it doesn't start turning after removing your finger, dump it in the trash and try the next one. After having a number of customer's computers go into thermal shutdown because the fan wouldn't start, I moved on to another fan. I haven't had this problem with the larger Evercool green fans.
pretty paperweight
Pros: looks nice
Cons: would not turn on fresh out of the box
Overall Review: Unpacked the box, plugged it in and charged overnight. Will not turn on. Opened battery compartment and checked connections. Tested battery, fully charged fine 13.3V. I have the feeling that this was never tested coming off the assembly line and that does not bode well for Cyberpower quality control.
solid
Pros: solid aluminum, full set of screws
Cons: none
Overall Review: good for mounting SSDs in a desktop computer. Aluminum makes a good heat sink
Shipping from China
This seller ships from China. A month later and I still don't see the merchandise. Be careful of any Newegg purchase that is "First from Asia' A better name would be "Never from Asia."
