Good Monitor with some flaws
Pros: - G Sync - 165Hz - 1440 at 24 inches - USB 3 hub - Vesa compatible - Great Stand.
Cons: - Detailed explanation in other section....
Overall Review: I dont usually write reviews but felt I needed to for this monitor. Coming from a 1080p 60Hz HP Display - 1440p, G Sync and high refresh rate capability is great; I've never seen a more smooth image. Color is good enough for a TN Panel (personally like the Cool setting, Standard makes the picture much too warm) and build quality is excellent. The colors are not as good as your average IPS panel but that is to be expected. Included Displayport cable is wired properly, no errant voltage on pin 20 like some other in box DP cables. I would avoid using fast response time for normal browsing as it adds blur to text in motion and to the cursors on some backgrounds. However, as you may have noticed if you've read other reviews for this monitor, this display does suffer from one (Major?) issue. Many people call it color banding, I experienced no such things. Ive looked at many color gradients and see no banding - only smooth transitions from one color to another. This monitor does suffer from what I can only describe as MPEG compression artifacts during extremely dark scenes with gradients. The main menu of Assassins Creed Odyssey (Near the edges) , the save game screen in The Witcher 3, and the main menu of Batman Arkham Knight are perfect tests to see what Im talking about. If you've ever had a cable TV suddenly start tilling or watched a online video at very low bitrate then you know what Im talking about. Again it only happens in very dark scenes with gradients. I read the reviews before purchasing this monitor and I expected much worse but perhaps I got lucky with my model revision (A05 August 2018 DOM) I got this monitor on sale for 45% off. Had I spent the suggested retail price I would not be happy. But considering I got G Sync, 165Hz, 1440p, decent colors, all in a solid feeling body, I cant complain for the price. Honestly, the artifacts dont bother me that much and Im happy with my purchase.
Code already used
Pros: None
Cons: Like many of the others here I too received a code that had already been activated. Absolutely ridiculous. Luckily I had a spare. My advice, buy physical or digitally direct from Microsoft next time.
Great unit for an early to mid 2000s PC
Pros: - Matched the rail configuration and exceeded power distribution of the original OEM DELL PSU. Good assortment of legacy connectors and more modern ones allowing for wide compatibility with hardware.
Cons: - None
Overall Review: Believed I was ordering the silver model , according to the picture posted on the product page, but received the black model instead. Not the biggest deal but I was trying to keep the color scheme accurate for an old Dell Dimension 4600 I was in the process of restoring.
Works Great
Pros: Worked right out of the box on Windows 10. Plug and play, windows installed the 10/17/15 Driver and all was peachy. Rumble works. Range is EXCELLENT, I was more than 50ft away from my PC before losing signal.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Could Microsoft provide drivers for W7/W8.1 Users? Yes, but they dont have to and know this will drive upgrades. Love it or hate it, works great for what it is.
Good case, but NZXT needs to tread carefully
Pros: Build Quality - This case is the heaviest Mid Tower I have ever owned. Solid steel construction. The color white they have used is extremely pure. No yellow hint anywhere. The rubber grommets wont fall out easily (Like they did on my Phantom 410). Fan Filters - They catch about everything except for the finest dust particles. They feel like they are very well made. SSD Trays - I personally like the placement, and I know some dont. Make sure your PSU has a straight SATA Connector on the end or you may have to angle the tray up slightly to avoid putting to much strain on the connector. Water Cooling Support - While Water Cooling is not my thing personally, This case can support most everything on the market pretty well from what I have seen.
Cons: Front Panel Audio Connectors - I know a lot of audio enthusiasts will dare not use these, but the amount of cross talk between the Microphone and Headset jacks is absolutely unacceptable. The person on the other end can hear everything that is being sent through the front headphone connector. Plugging in through the rear IO or another PC's front audio inputs doesn't have this issue. I've owned extremely cheap audio equipment that has never had this problem. Temperatures - My temps across everything has rose around 4C since using this case. Might want to take this into account if you overclock. Everything in my system is cooled with air, So I didn't expect to be blow away NZXT Customer Support - Please read The Original H440 had an issue with the LED in the PSU shroud going out prematurely. NZXT has claimed that they fixed this issue, But I was sent one the revisions that has said issue. Simply submit a ticket and they will sort it out for you...... My case also shipped without motherboard screws. NONE! ZERO! I have had a ticket open with NZXT Support now for 18 days and have yet to be sent a replacement LED and Motherboard screws. They have not even provided a tracking number so that tells me they have yet to ship anything. I was hesitate about posting a review about this case until these issues were solved but I think 18 days is MORE THAN ENOUGH time. I doubt Ill be buying an NZXT product again. And this is coming from a loyal customer.
Overall Review: This case is made extremely well. But NZXT needs to step up their game when it comes to the electronics included in this case and their customer support. I want to know a company will back their products, and If they wont, then I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you don't have to deal with customer support, then I would give this review a 4-5 eggs Now Im just waiting to see if the included fan hub goes out in a months time........
Great GPU for the Value
Pros: - Great Temps. I average about 69C at full load for about 5 hours. (Mind you my case is a bit cramp and doesnt have the best ventilation) - I can Run DX11??! My old card (550TI) failed at running DX11 features on any game. This card can without a significant impact on performance. - Very Quiet
Cons: - Lack of anti dust tech -192Bit Memory Interface (Would have been willing to pay a few extra bucks for a 256)
Overall Review: Very good card. Def worth the upgrade. Was a breeze to install and I will be coming back to MSI when I buy a new one
