Just perfect
Pros: This unit is really perfect for a low consumption setup. I'm using this power supply to powered an ASUS E35M1-M PRO motherboard and an SSD. The fan on this unit is very silent and perfect for a quiet environment. According to my monitoring system, the power deliver by this power supply is very stable and accurate.
Cons: My 1U server case was not standard. Custom modification was required to make the power supply fitting.
Worth buying
Pros: Supported by nut on Linux via serial port and provide metrics about the load, battery usage, etc. The product is ratter cheap.
Cons: The battery provided did not last 2 year and you won't know the battery are dead until a power outage occur and the UPS Shutdown. I recommend new buyer to periodically test the ups by directly unplugging it from the wall.
Overall Review: While this Brand is not well known in Canada or USA, it seams they are building good enough product. I have two of them for more then 3 year. It never failed on me. Switching to batteries or online is working very well. The only bad point is the provided battery. It losing their charge after a year. So plan to buy new battery. But seriously, I wont buy this UPS anymore. I will pick a renown brand.
Not built to lasst
Pros: The laptop is a beat in term of performance and everything fit in a relatively small laptop. It's thin and not heavy. REally love the design and the "slikness" of it.
Cons: The hardware is not built to last clearyl. Got this one in April 2019. A week after I receive it, the HDD died. Then lately in oct 2019, the FAN on the GPU is Stuck or making very base bearing noise.
Overall Review: ASUS support is not flexible. They are not sending any parts for replacement. Thus, you need to send the unit to a repair facility.
Don't buy ! All of them died within 6 month
Pros: - worked for a while ?
Cons: I bought two of them. Within a month. One of it died. I ask for replacement. So I've receive the replacement, it also died on me after 2 month. Only one of it was still alive until yesterday. Voilà. 3 out of 3. Just don't buy.
Overall Review: - None
Good Hardware - so well supported in Linux
Pros: - Hardware performance really meet my expectation. The graphics card is a bit less powerful than its desktop counterparts. But it's really a good graphics card as this point in time. - The monitor colors are very good compare my previous laptop. I don't even need a color profile to get it right. - The chassis seems less robust than my previous ThinkPad. Only time will tell me if the chassis is really solid after dripping it once or twice. - The webcam quality of correct. Far from perfect, but usable. Working out of the box in Linux
Cons: - The temperature of the laptop get very high in the game. Something like 90⁰C - But clearly for me the most painful thing is Nvidia Optimus. This feature was not highlighting anywhere in the specs. I would have reconsidered buying this laptop if I knew it was Optimus enabled. Because I know Optimus is not well supported in Linux. At least an option to disable the integrated graphics would have been nice. - The touchpad click is not so great. It's too stiff and not really usable for day-to-day usage. - Ho, and the SuperKey (Windows Logo) has the wrong key code. It's reported as SUPER_R while in fact it should be reported as SUPER_L since it's on the left side. - Linux support is not so good. 1. It's a Nvidia Optimus system. So setting up the graphics is really painful. 2. Audio output through HDMI is not working out of the box. 3. The touch pad driver is not working out of the box. 4. Chipset for temperature is not supported by lm-sensors. Mainly because Gigabyte is not publishing data sheets. All of this can be resolved with some tweaking...
Overall Review: I would still recommend this laptop, even if Linux is not well supported. It's definitely a good product but to be improved. From a hardware perspective, the airflow is clearly not enough for this GPU. Getting to 90⁰C does not seem reasonable.
Very good cell phone
Pros: The hardward seams to be excellent and durable, but I still plan to buy a cover for it. I bought it to connect to Koodo network (Bell Canada Network). I have very good reception. The quality of phone call is ok.
Cons: Compare to LG G4, the camera is not very good.
Give a wrong image to newegg
I'm really dissatisfied with my last order. The shipping took too long (with DHL). Usually, when ordering stuff directly from Newegg, I get it within 2-5 business days. It took ~15 business day to get it. Worst, the tracking number provided never worked, so I had no idea where my package was. I do not recommend this reseller.
