very niche, very chic, but behind the curve

LIAN LI PC-V750A Silver Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-V750A Silver Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Silver brushed aluminum eyecandy -Single 5.25 drive bay -Accepts nearly any motherboard -most power supplies will be more than comfortable -the longest graphics cards can be used without being cramped -Ample space behind mobo tray for cable management(NEW for lian li!) -no worries about cables not reaching from psu to components -all the hdd and ssd expansion most users could ask for -3.5in hot swap bays(another new thing for lian li) with locking mechanism -140mm fan mount at the bottom of case w/filter, great for direct airflow to gpu( at the expense of a few hdd/ssd mounting options) -tool-less side door mechanism works well and is convenient(not my cup of tea, I prefer the old lian li slide locking design) -fit and finish is mind boggling even with the price considered, excellent craftsmanship that will spoil you when you try to go back to cheaper cases -gpu card support -SIMPLE rectangle box design coupled with the workability of aluminum makes for spectacular modding project

Cons: -seems less stout than my other lian li cases, not flimsy by any means though -not sure how long the plastic snaps for the side doors will last -plastic by the 5.25 drive bay cover seems soft and not durable -single 5.25 drive bay could be a problem if you need another for some reason(in my case I only use one and the case front looks very clean without the extra empty slots) -psu I/0 switch inaccessible when side door is on -rear 120mm exhaust fan does not have clearance for h80 etc -top 140mm fans do not have clearance nor spacing for radiator -strictly air cooling case without modding -rivets -non removable mobo tray -ssd's won't work in hot swap without an additionally bought tray -unique layout that has its advantages and disadvantages -worried someday it will be mistaken for a Mac!

Overall Review: No case is perfect, they all have their trade offs. With lian li chassis the trade is a lack of bleeding edge features for a beautiful aluminum computer box that makes best friends with the eyes and worst enemies with the wallet. For some this is a reasonable notion, but most would opt for a corsair and use the savings for another graphics card. I personally choose form over over function when it comes to cases so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. This case finally brings around features that most companies have had for years and is still behind in some areas, but if u don't need that stuff and want a stunning aluminum case machined to perfection then I would highly recommend this one.

Runs Flawless
