Acer Laptop Aspire AMD Phenom II N970 4GB Memory 500GB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6650M 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit AS5552G-7641

Pros: Great deal straight up, no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. Great performance and it still has a thin feel to it. Heat is no issue even on my lap or on a bed when doing everyday tasks that dont require high gpu usage. I love having the num-pad at my disposal and the keyboard is simple with good tactile feed back, you never wonder whether your pushing hard or soft enough.

Cons: Although the keyboard is great i think the touchpad could have been moved a little to the right because if i stop typing for a second and rest my palm down a little it hits the pad and makes it click, this is easely remedied with a few changes to the mouse settings especially if you have a separate mouse but there you go. I had no problem cleaning up all the extra wares that came with it but i did get BSoD a couple times during all of the updates i needed. Hasn't happened since so im not worried at all. If you plan on playing any games with it be aware that it can get pretty hot. I play Starcraft 2 and it runs it great but gets really hot at times.

Overall Review: I dont get what the VGA port on the left side is all about, it seems pretty useless and a bad place for it plus it has HDMI out but its there if you need it so no real compllaints. Speakers suck but its a simple laptop so i wouldnt really consider it a con. Truthfully all the cons i listed are pretty trivial but are there for you to be aware of. I hear alot about how acer laptops suck but its all about the hardware thats in it and how you use it and for the price I payed for this thing I am MORE than happy giving it a 5/5. I hope this helps.

AOPEN 16PM1Q Abmiuuzx 15.6" Full HD 1920 x 1080 IPS Business Portable Monitor | Ultra Slim Portable Design | External Monitor for Laptop PC Mac I 2-USB 3.1 Type-C Ports, 1-Mini HDMI & 1-Micro USB

Pros: Its slim, lightweight, feels sturdy enough, and the stand/case works as intended. Display is fine over HDMI.

Cons: I was intending to simply use USB-C so I could use 1 cable but neither of the ports work for display, only power. I've tried multiple known good USB cables and different combinations, tried to change the input through the menus, nothing. USB-C simply does not work for display, this means you need 2 cables to use it, power over USB and HDMI which makes it a pain for a portable screen.

Overall Review: Gave it a 2 since it works but the double whammy of needing 2 cables and USB just not working, if they fixed that problem this could be a great product especially for the price.

Could have been great

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card GV-R797D5-3GD-B
GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card GV-R797D5-3GD-B

Pros: This card is powerful. there's no getting around it. It will run any game you throw at it on full settings.....

Cons: ...if it does run. I had it for well over a year and got great use out of it BUT recently it started crashing everytime I got into a game (BF4, MWO). Ive gotten anything from snow, to black screen, and even BSOD. I don't expect something to last forever but this is still a top of the line card.

Overall Review: Seriously if this card lasted me one more year I would have given it a 5 but after doing research I found that a lot of 7970s, not just gigabyte, have been having this problem. It looks like im going to have to get a new card probably downgrade and go crossfire.
