Great drive, Not for 2009 iMac
Pros: This drive is excellent so far. Fast and spacious.
Cons: If you are looking to replace the Seagate HDD in a 2009 intel iMac, it will recognize this drive properly with the allocated space, but the 4-pin thermal sensor does not appropriately detect temperature and you'll get 5000rpm fan speeds.
Overall Review: This detected as 2.2TB in a Sans Digital external enclosure, but Sans Digital accepted an RMA on the unit to recognize the drive correctly as 3TB.
Photo is matte white, but product is mirror silver
Pros: It works and shipping was incredibly fast.
Cons: It's heavy and it's a fingerprint magnet. The band will not fit a larger wrist; mine is average and it takes up the 2nd to last notch. The watch body is so huge that it comprises the entire top half of my wrist. The watch band is small in comparison
Overall Review: This makes a convincing case to only buy apparel or accessories you've seen in person.
Eggcellent in 27" iMac
Pros: I put 2 of these kits (16GB total) in my Late 2009 quad core i5 27" iMac. I push my machine with Cinema 4D renders and post-production effects, and I haven't had a single problem. The RAM I received was perfectly compatible and sings in this machine under stress (so far).
Cons: Zero.
Overall Review: This RAM is such a good value that I know have enough to dedicate a portion to be a RAM disk in OS X if I want, or run Windows 7 in Parallels side-by-side with OS X and they can each have 8GB RAM. Since getting at the HDD is tough, having inexpensive RAM that can perform and take some paging file writes down immensely is really a treat.
Great Workstation Board, Never one BSOD
Pros: Very stable and fast for my 3D/motion graphics needs. Onboard video is actually very usable in a pinch, supporting DirectX 10. Onboard optical audio out is great. Great paired with 4 x 1GB of G.SKILL DDR2 800 RAM and a Core2Quad Q6600. Onboard firewire is A+. Lots of USB ports, and with onboard headers combined there are 12 possible.
Cons: No floppy connector and a rather recent RAID/SATA/IDE on ICH9R means that some older OS versions (XP, earlier Linux distros) will have a hard time seeing your hard disks out of the box. XP solution: use nLite to make a slipstream installation CD with the driver. Vista installation, provide the driver on the Intel CD for ICH9R. Linux, use any distro after Oct. '07.
Overall Review: Compatible with Leopard, save for NIC and onboard graphics, at time of writing.
performance as good as price
Pros: -Zero Compatibility Issues -Solid performance with large memory hogs like Maya, Photoshop, AfterEffects rendering -Never had a problem with Corsair in the 6 machines I've owned
Cons: -None as far as I can see!
Overall Review: Ordered Monday night, in my laptop Thursday afternoon. Thank you, NewEgg!
sweet & complete
Comments: Mine came with everything pictured; screws, power passthrough, usb cable, and slotted PCI slot. The person below must have just been unlucky. Works with my laptop and inside my case! Thanks Newegg!
