Excellent purchase

Pros: Lovely, crisp 13" display; makes watching movies and television shows comfortable on the eyes. Sleek, light-weight design with no bulky ports or jacks thrown all about the outside bottom case; neatly placed on the left side. The Intel 2.16ghz Core2Duo processor with 2GB RAM makes multitasking a breeze, leaving lagging system issues a thing of the past. MagSafe magnetic power adapter is a very handy feature as well. No more damage from accidentally yanking the power adapter out the side. Very clear built in audio in/out, along with clear and stunning iSight camera.

Cons: Smudge marks can appear quite easily on the case, especially on the screen and top case where your palms rest. Trackpad does the same thing; over long period of use, "glossy" area appears on trackpad and has different "oily feel" than origionally. Easy ignored tho. No backlit keyboard. Although a nifty feature on the previous PowerBook series, Apple decided to remove that function in this line of notebooks. Gotta upgrade to the MacBook Pro for that extra spice of elegance. Other than the minor setbacks previously stated, nothing bad to say about the Apple MacBook at all.

Overall Review: Very first Apple notebook owned, wouldn't dare think about turning back to PC laptops. Extremely easy to understand the ropes, user friendly, and also adds that FreeBSD feeling for Unix veterans. A must-buy for any average to advanced computer user. Great for bridging into Mac OSX world from Windows. There is also software available to run many Windows applications without a problem. Not intended for game-hungry buyers, that's why the MacBook Pro is also available.
