Awesome
Pros: First off, I love this keyboard. It has a nice build quality (Solid, heavy, sturdy, and just overall feels comfortable) Previously I mentioned it has USB 3.0 pass-through. Well, it does and it works like a charm. However, this keyboard is really using a USB 2.0 for interfacing with the computer. The USB 3.0 is purely optional and doesn't even need to be plugged in for the keyboard to work. I'll probably go with SDub's advice and buy an adapter for PS/2 conversion. Good news is I can still keep the USB 3.0 plugged in for convenience. Back-lighting... I can't seem to go without it. I've tried so many keyboards that don't have the back-light and at night time I just get frustrated. I really like the back-lite on this keyboard. They built the keys to where they're pitch black and only the letter shines the light through. Now, one thing that makes this back-light so great is the fact that each key has it's on LED. Previously, my other back-lit keyboards had LED's on the board where it just illuminates the entire board instead of each key. That left a lot of light bleed to happen between keys and pretty much everywhere. With each key having it's own LED on this board, you get minimal light bleed between keys and the keys show up much clearer. To top it off, there's a scroll wheel on the top of the keyboard that lets your brighten or dim to your hearts content. I love this feature because I finally have an option (a quick one too) if I ever want to dim or brighten the keys. Press down on the wheel and it will toggle the back-light on and off. Nice detailed feature IMO. Sound... This keyboard sounds great. The pressing of the keys when you bottom out has a real solid feel. The sound when I type is almost like listening to pop-corn pop from a distance. It's definitely noticeable so don't think the keyboard is silent. However, to get to actuation on this keyboard, no sound is made. So if you are an expert typist, you can make this keyboard silent by just pressing the key down to actuation. Me, I'm a bottomer. I can't help it really. Maybe one day I will take the time to train on actuation instead of bottoming. (bottoming... that sounds bad O_o) Accuracy... Accuracy is a major change with this keyboard vs my old dome board. To be honest, I've actually realized that by using this keyboard, I have been compensating incorrectly in the past with my old dome. What do you mean Deftonian? Well, it's kind of hard to explain but I'll try. All my life I've used a dome keyboard. Work, home, friends, family, etc all have dome. Now since a dome keyboard requires bottoming out when you press a key I had trained my fingers (without even knowing it) to begin pressing the next key in advance... actually probably the next few keys. Now, with this mechanical keyboard, I noticed I started to make a few typing mistakes because my fingers were already pushing down other keys in advance. Cont. in Other...
Cons: None yet
Overall Review: Well, with the actuation being so small on a mechanical keyboard I was typing some words like I was dyslexic. I've since corrected that and now type with confidence and precision. It was interesting to know that a dome keyboard almost trains you to type differently. Now when I go to work, I wish I had a mechanical keyboard. They'll never get one though, I work for the state of Texas and they won’t spend tax dollars on forward tech. Another thing I noticed with typing was that I would rest my fingers on my old keyboard. Now, with the mechanical keyboard I found it's better not to rest my fingers as much. The keys are pretty easy to slide down and with the low actuation mark, resting my fingers usually meant I would accidentally press a key without knowing it. More things I love about this board are the 5 programmable keys up at the top. Gigabyte also give you extra keys with symbols and such to replace existing keys on the board. The tool they provide is amazing to get keys off. What a breeze. Next to the back-light scroll wheel is the volume scroll wheel. While I don’t use that as much because I have CM Storm Sirus headset with it's own volume controller, I still think it's a nice addition. Same as light wheel, clicking the wheel toggles the mute. This board also comes with a profile switch. Located at the top right is you light up Aivia logo. You can toggle between 5 profiles and each profile can alter your 5 programmable keys. This comes in handy if you play other games. Each profile has it's own color LED which will change the back-light for the Aivia logo only. The entire board only lights up blue but the profile will change colors based on which you're using. I've noticed that I do game better on a mechanical keyboard. It seems more responsive and comfortable. I feel safer knowing each key will register and do so quickly. I now believe the hype about mechanical keyboards. Once you go mechanical, dome’s make you maniacal.
Great card... bad Asus
Pros: I'm no genius but I'm not stupid. I'm not a hardcore gamer or builder enthusiast. I do love building my own PC's though. That all being said, I think this card is great. I've researched SLI 680's vs this 690 and decided to go with this one because I'm greedy and love having the best (if I can afford). I came from two Gigabyte GTX 570's (windforce) in SLI and this one card does a great job of making those two look like child's play. I have a 120hz monitor so I strive for GPU's that will push beyond the 60 FPS on maxed settings for any game. This card does that and then some. It actually does it overkill but whatever... I'd buy a Dodge Viper even though the speed limit is 70. Sometimes you just want the option, ya know? 5 Eggs for the GTX 690.
Cons: Here's the bad. Everything was running great on my 690 until I downloaded Asus software (GPU Tweak). The second I rebooted after installing, I get a red screen on one of my monitors. I believe others are calling this the RSoD (red screen of death). This isn't a fatal issue for me though, since I have two monitors all I have to do is open an application on the screen that was red and it will disappear. However, every 30 seconds or so it will happen again. So my issue is with Asus and their software. Why buy a $1050.00 dollar card from Asus if they can't even get their supporting software to work with it. Disappointing to say the least. Yay, now I get to go in and read forums on where the issue lies. So glad I paid $1050.00 to research. It’s the principle of the matter.
Overall Review: I bought this card because I love having multiple GPUs, whether it be SLI or a native dual GPU card. I went with this one due to only taking up one slot in my PC, and it just looks awesome. Now I know issues happen, especially in the computer building world. But there has to be repercussions for negligence. I don’t hate Asus, I think they're a great company, they just need to get on the ball for their high paying customers. I would rather have quality at a later date than the stress of issues to push a release on a product not ready. Before I get “not helpful” votes, please know this is a product review. The product is from Asus so the bad rating is because of them.
Surprising
Pros: - Aesthetics (low profile / not flashy) - Fresh OEM Window's install (No bloatware) - Fast production and shipping once purchased - Nice packaging of product - Bang for buck! So many ports/options - Great price! - Easy to upgrade - Friendly company (Eluktronics) - Finger print reader has worked perfectly for me. No issues reading my finger every time. - Love the keyboard lighting customization. 3 zones you can chose a different color in, so tons of options.
Cons: - Haven't run into any yet. If you read the description, that's what you're going to get.
Overall Review: To be fair, I'd like to let it known that Eluktronics offers a free 16gb USB 3.0 for a product review, either good or bad. I haven't had a lot of time with the product yet but over the last week I feel it's performed admirably. I mainly purchased this laptop because I wanted a light gaming laptop without the flashy gaming laptop look. I ran across Eluktronics custom built laptops and really liked what I saw. Even more surprised, the price for what you get. ALL of these ports and slots are up-to-date with new standards such as USB 3.1 Type C, Bluetooth 4.2, Wireless AC, PCIe SSD M.2, etc. They really didn't skimp on anything, there are so many port options. They back up what they state in their product description. I was on the fence between this TN 120hz GSYNC panel or one of the IPS 60hz panels. Ultimately, I went with this one for the gaming side of what I wanted. For a TN panel, you can still notice the viewing angels, but it's not nearly as bad as the ones I've had in the past. To be fair, with a laptop, I rarely have to view the panel from another angle other than right in front of it, so I don't really knock anything off for the display. It's crisp, vibrant, and smooth at 120hz. The build quality of the laptop has also surprised me. It is much better looking in person than in the pictures on the websites. The brushed aluminum is a very nice touch and adds a nice sleek design. It's much thinner than I thought it would be too. I'm not a fan of touch pads so I only used it for a day and then bought a wireless mouse. I don't have any issues with touch pads, I just don't like trying to navigate with them. I've always been more comfortable with a mouse. I can't speak much to the speakers because I either use a bluetooth headset or go silent. Power consumption is what I expected from a light gaming laptop. It varies so much based on so many factors so it's hard to provide any feedback on how YOU may experience it. For ME, I get about 2-3 hours off just battery when browsing the internet, watching videos. When gaming, I plug it in so not sure lol. I love the keyboard. The function keys are plentiful and very useful. The customization is outstanding for backlight. The Keys seem very responsive. They are soft to the push and fairly quiet. Full 10-key is handy. I haven't used the webcam yet so can't really speak to that either. Overall, I really feel like I got a bargain. There are so many options with these laptops and I'm so happy to see a company out there that is breaking the mold and actually offering you a quality product with today's standards, with the right price tag. The company really seems to care about their image and providing a quality product. I haven't had to call their customer service yet because the product has been working perfectly upon arrival. I don't think Newegg allows product review updates, so I'll just have to post another one if I end up running into any issues down the road. Sorry for the long description, but want to be fair for all to read. I trusted all the positive reviews from this company, and glad I did because I'm very happy with my purchase.
Works as advertised
Pros: - Price - Works as intended - Shipped fine, no spillage
Cons: N/A
Overall Review: I think it's hard to really put a rating on a toner replacement because it's hard to tell right away if it's going to last or cause any problems later. However, I would like to note that the price for this toner, along with the quick shipping and quality of packaging, and it's been working ever since I put it in, I think it's fair to write a review.
K75 Platinum
Pros: Let me start by saying I'm not a coffee drinker so I will make this review strictly about the product as it's intended. - Looks great - Love the LEDs in the water tank and on the screen - Very simple to use - Plug and play - Ready to brew in < 5 min - convinient
Cons: N/A
Overall Review: By the time I've written this review, the product has worked as intended, without hic-up. It's a reliable machine and that's a great thing. I mainly use this for brewing quick cups of tea. I can tell you right now that the tea options are decent but not as good as a home brewed batch using tea bags. I recommend everyone who gets this for tea get the 32oz pitcher (sold separately). I think I got it for $20 but it's been well worth it as I use it all the time. Some may say that the price of these are pretty high but I think what I paid for is the convenience of having a quick cup of tea in less than 5 minutes. It is built for that and it does it well.
Arctic White PS4 Controller
Pros: The new PS4 controller is already a big step up from the PS3 controller... but this Arctic White one just looks amazing.
Cons: N/A
Overall Review: Just love the new color. I got the white PS3 one when it came out and feel the same way, love the white colors
Reputable Company
Had a great and simple experience between ordering from Newegg and receiving my custom laptop from Eluktronics.
Never received item
This is twice I've tried to get something from a 3rd party seller and never received my item. Never receive an email that it was cancelled, backordered, shipped, pending, or whatever... just never received it and going on a month
