Cheapest ebook reader I've seen

Pros: Low Price Bought this at the Shell Shocker price. I've been using it for a week now and I love it. It turns on in a second and pages turn fast. Uses 4 AA batteries. I already have a set of rechargable batteries. The battery life is good. It accepts SD cards, so far I've tried my 4gb SDHC card and 2GB microSD card w/ a SD adapter. SC card has to be formated in FAT or FAT32. My primary Ebook reader is my Blackberry Curve w/ MobiPocket Reader. Jetbook Lite won't read DRM I bought from MobiPocket site, but will read ebooks I made using MobiPociket Creator. I was able to drag and drop my PRC files to the SD card. I also put some files in the HTML, Txt, RFT format and jetBook lite could read them. Went to Feedbooks & Manybooks websites and tested downloading ePub, PDF & fb2 files directly to SD card in jetBook Lite. I use PDF Custom format: Dimensions 70mm x 90mm Line spacing 1.25 Margins 3 (all sides) Font size 8 or 10 I also tested creating a PDF in OpenOffice
Cons: No Cons for such a low price A little bit heavier than my Blackberry, but it is easy to carry around. The little battery bump on the back fits into the palm of my left hand. You can change the layout from Portait to Landscape. The Font size is adjustable from 12 points to 32 points & there are only two fonts(Arial and Verdana). The resolution is good and I find this to be very easy to read. The default options are good, but you can change the font size easily. Has a 5-inch reflective TFT manufactured by Toshiba used in pocket dictionaries. There's also a Auto Power Off and Auto Turn Page option under User Settings. You can plug the jetBook - Lite into your computer using the microUSB port. It will show the memory of the reader and also the SD card. Under System Settings, you can check battery life, main memory capacity & SD card capacity. There's an Internal File manager & SD Card File Manager where you can delete ebooks directly from the jetBook-Lite.
Overall Review: The jetBook-Lite comes preloaded w several ebooks like the King James Bible, The Lost World, Beowulf, Dracula, The Art of War, Macbeth, A Tale of Two Cities, Hamlet & Oliver Twist. It files the books on it's main memory in separate folders like Children's, Detectives, Fiction, History, etc. So when you put ebooks on your SD card, i recommend you but them is a separate folder with a unique name as well such as SD ebooks, SD HTML or SD PDF. Mine came w/ Firmware version v0.14i and Patch v15. Overall, this is a good deal for the price. It doesn't have alot of the options of other ereaders such as MP3 player. But is it the cheapest ebook reader I've seen. If you want more, then you should be prepared to spend $200 to $400 dollars. This is a great ebook reader for such a low price. The review below who returned it because he thought the battery compartment was a tumor is overly picky. Where did he think 4 AA batteries were supposed to go?
Refurbished BlackBerry PlayBook won't charge

Pros: 1- The BlackBerry packaging was nice 2- Came with a official charger for the Playbook along with a soft slip case and USB cable 3- Tablet looks brand new w/ no scratches or blemishes 4- Fast delivery from Newegg 5 - $129.99 price is so low I had to give Playbook a try.
Cons: 1- Doesn't work 2 Battery won't charge (even with the included charger from BlackBerry)
Overall Review: I ordered this refurbished 16GB PlayBook over the weekend and it was delivered this Tuesday morning. I took it out of the box and it doesn't work. I pushed the power button, nothing happened. Plugged it in with the charger that came with the Playbook. It won't charge. When I plug it in, a red indicator light comes on and stays steady for about 15 seconds, then it changes to a green light that flashes 5 times then goes out. Unfortunately, I took a chance on a refurbished unit and ended up with a dud. I am going to check w/ Newegg tomorrow to see about returning it. The bad part about ordering refubished units is there is no refund. You can only send it back for a replacment. But don't delay in returning it, you only have a limited replacement period once you receive your reburbished device.
Perfect for video and music

Pros: 1 - small size 2 - no flashing indicator lights 3 - lanyard loop
Cons: 1 - average speed
Overall Review: I specifically bought this because I wanted a mini USB drive to carry around movie and music files. I have different devices that I can play media on. So far I've used this with a Blu Ray player, laptop PC and car stereo and it worked perfectly. None of my units had a problem reading files on this USB drive. I like the fact that it is all black w/o any indicator lights. This is good to leave plugged into your Blu Ray/DVD player without an distracting flashing light. It's so small that I don't have to worry about accidentally knocking against it when I leave it plugged in.
Great 4:3 PC monitor

Pros: 1 - 1600x1200 resolution 2 - D-Sub, DVI-D, Analog & Digital 3 - Tilt & swivel 4 - Looks perfect w/ no scratches 5 - Low price
Cons: 1 - You have to be careful moving the monitor around. It detaches from the round metal base easily. 2 - No HDMI port.
Overall Review: Refurbished units get a bad rap sometimes. I took a chance on this generic monitor because it was a 4:3 ratio monitor. I prefer those for web browser and office work instead of the 16:9 wide screen PC monitors. I am very happy with my purchase. I bought my L200ME-BF seven months ago and use it daily. I have had no problems at all. It works perfectly with no dead pixels. I really like the 1600x1200 resolution for my office work. The multiple adjustments available on the stand makes this very useful. Also this screen works very well for me to watch videos. My only regret is that I only bought one of these when I had the chance.
Not Reliable - Deserves a zero rating

Pros: For $199.99, there are no pros.
Cons: Not reliable. I've had two and they both died on my in less than 5 months. Ended up having to email Ectaco for a replacement. Two defective jetBooks. The old saying is "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Please read the negative reviews for the jetBooks and see how many people are complaining about it freezing up, needing to be reset, or just not working properly. Read how many people are having problems installing firmware upgrades. Read how many people are having problems getting their jetBook to open DRM protected ebooks, even if DRM support was supposed to be added w/ the recent firmware.
Overall Review: I just noticed that this was selling on the Newegg site for $199.99. I don't understand why this unreliable ebook reader is selling for $199.99. That's more expensive than a Kindle and a Nook. I can understand taking a chance and buying this jetBook if it was cheaper. I'm warning anybody that I can, don't waste two hundred dollars on this. Before you buy this, ask yourself, "Can I trust that this product will last longer than the warranty?" Why buy something if you can't even trust it to work for a couple of years? Do you really feel comfortable w/ the idea of getting your ebook reader replaced every year?
Nice fast flash drive

Pros: Fast little flash drive. I've had it for 8 months so far w/o any problems. I loaded portable apps and use it to run portable version of Open Office, Foxit Reader and Firefox. I use it on a daily basis and it works great.
Cons: Larger than a OCZ Rally 2.
