cheap 3 monitor support!
Pros: no fan = quiet. cheapest card which supports three monitors
Cons: not for gaming: Minecraft at default and 1080p was ~40fps (on an i7!) luckily, this wasn't purchased for gaming, but don't expect to be pleasantly surprised. also, the heat sink points down in a tower case. if your case has power supply below then don't expect to get great airflow.
Overall Review: definitely takes 2 slots+ with the heatsink.
178 deg viewing angles, too much contrast
Pros: 178 deg angle non-TN panel. rotating clip pedestal feels more solid than other cheap pedestals. very thin. very small laptop-style power supply.
Cons: too much black! on default settings it was hard to make out details in dark images and I wasn't able to make it much better quickly fiddling around. doesn't appear to have VESA mount points... tho maybe it is hidden somewhere screen is over-so-slightly glossy. definitely matte, but glossier than other matte panels.
Overall Review: I think this is a good cheap panel, but if you are picky about colors or imaging you might be dissappointed. Nice for office work (would be better if it were 16:10 but you know...) Compared to my old (and dying) W-house 24" PVA panel(not expensive), this panel was far inferior in terms of color and contrast.
Died within 3 writes
Pros: attractive machined aluminum
Cons: junk controller. choked on transfers and then died within 3 days. guess they spent the money on the aluminum
dead after 6 months
Pros: when it worked, it worked. RMA was easy after it died but the death was sudden, total, complete and without warning.
Cons: when it died it was dead, dead, dead.
Overall Review: I have no idea what factors contributed to the demise of the hard drive, but keep in mind that SSD's die w/o warning... don't do what I did: back-up early, back-up often.
works fine, clunky BIOS, missing CD
Pros: it works.
Cons: BIOS is clunky, likes to reorder the boot sequence according to it's whims when you say, use a usb drive and then remove it and then refuse to boot from secondaries. however, it loves to try to boot from the imaginary "2.2TB Infinity!" also, there was no driver cd in the box i got from newegg. this combined with the fact that win7 x64 doesn't support the ethernet controller out-of-the-box and MSI not offering an integrated installer for download i.e. you download each driver separately, added a surprising amount of time to the build.
Overall Review: premium price, not premium experience
cheap feel, mushy keys, warped frame
Pros: slim, black, media keys aren't too bizarre
Cons: mushy keys, does *not* feel like a laptop: surprisingly long travel. cheap construction so that the frame is warped and doesn't lie flat on a desk. also, risers easily flip back. wish i hadn't...
