HITACHI HV250R Magic Wand Massager
HITACHI HV250R Magic Wand Massager

Cons: Cam be a little loud.

Overall Review: My wife loves it. I bought one for my sister because she was on her feet at work all day. She likes it too.

Nice for the Price, Awesome for Sonos

Pioneer SP-BS41-LR 2 CH Bookshelf Loudspeakers Pair
Pioneer SP-BS41-LR 2 CH Bookshelf Loudspeakers Pair

Pros: Fantastic frequency response out of the box. It's like they were made for my ears. Sound even better with a sub but I think they are still decent by themselves. I haven't tried them with movies, but sound wonderful for a wide range of music.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I added Sonos to my house but I'm not a fan of their speakers. So I bought my own speakers and connected them to my Sonos. Half of my 6 setups use these Pioneer speakers and I am incredibly happy with them. I would not hesitate to buy again if I needed to add more later.

Unbelievably Good Notebook for the Price

TOSHIBA Laptop Portege Intel Core i5-2410M 4GB Memory 640GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 3000 13.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit R835-P56X
TOSHIBA Laptop Portege Intel Core i5-2410M 4GB Memory 640GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 3000 13.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit R835-P56X

Pros: It's so light. People are almost always amazed when they first pick it up. I am extremely happy with this notebook. Toshiba did so many things right. Trackpad is good with 2 and 3 finger support. You may need to tweek it a bit. The CPU is fast and responsive. Some of the Toshiba apps are actually very useful. The battery life gives me all day computing.

Cons: No 2 finger right click. No idea why. I'm going to have to upgrade to as SSD. Why? Because my wife has an SSD in her's. Screen is ok. It won't blow you away but it won't disappoint you either.

Overall Review: It has up to 3 finger gesture support. Adobe Reader proves it supports 3 finger swipe up and down in addition to left and right even if it isn't listed in the trackpad settings. If you got more cash to spend look at the R830 series for some serious power upgrades to the notebook. This is the consumer version of the notebook. However, I think this is the best bang for your buck.

reviews are being too hard on this card

XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card HD-697A-CNFC
XFX Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card HD-697A-CNFC

Pros: Extremely fast. The noise level hasn't bothered me at all so I'm not sure why people are complaining. It fit in Antec 900 case without any issues. I could not be anymore happy with this card. Best early Christmas present a wife could give her husband.

Cons: The 570 might be better choice in some cases but having Eyefinity more than makes it for it in my book. Also, I had to buy a mini DP adapter to convert to DP so I could use my active DP to DVI adapter. If you look around you can find dirt cheap adapters with reasonable shipping.

Overall Review: It runs my Eyefinity setup without any crashes at all unlike by Crossfire 5770 setup it replaced. I'm running 4800x1200 over 3 21" 4:3 displays.

Excellent Product

Rosewill RSV-S4-X - 4-Bay 3.5” Hot-Swappable SATA - eSATA Storage System - RAID 0 / 1 / 10 / 5 / 5 + Spare, Spanning & JBOD Enclosure - RAID Controller Card Bundle
Rosewill RSV-S4-X - 4-Bay 3.5” Hot-Swappable SATA - eSATA Storage System - RAID 0 / 1 / 10 / 5 / 5 + Spare, Spanning & JBOD Enclosure - RAID Controller Card Bundle

Pros: Very easy to setup. Excellent performance. Very nice looking. Good ventilation. Great price. It's nice to see a performance light for each disk. Rosewill customer support is very responsive and helpful.

Cons: You have to have an eSATA card that supports port multiplying which makes it a little less portable. The card that comes with it does however. No other types of connection interfaces.

Overall Review: I am currently doing JBOD. So I haven't actually used it for RAID. I will this summer when I buy another one or the 5 bay version. It's a very good alternative to NAS if you hook it up to a cheap custom built high power efficiency server.

Good Power Supply

Antec earthwatts EA430 430W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.0 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Antec earthwatts EA430 430W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.0 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very good price. I paid through the nose for my high effeciency PSU for my gaming system (700W). I didn't want to repeat that experience for my 24/7 media server. So the price is very good (especially when on sale). It works great and is quiet.

Cons: It is pretty plain looking. Not really a big deal though.

Overall Review: My old server ran at 130W idle and 200W peak. My new server is far more powerful and runs at 75W idle and 100W peak. It is also very quiet. Of course then the harddrive noise drove me nuts. For those with similar problem with loud harddrives, look into Automatic Acoustic Management software. You trade a small performance penalty for your sanity.
