Most Favorable Review

Sweet machine, great service

ThinkPad Laptop Intel Core i5-520M 8GB Memory 160 GB SSD Intel GMA 5700MHD 14.1" Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit T410 (2522EC8)
ThinkPad Laptop Intel Core i5-520M 8GB Memory 160 GB SSD Intel GMA 5700MHD 14.1" Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit T410 (2522EC8)

Pros: Classic Thinkpad look and build quality Thinkpad input devices (keyboard, trackpoint and touchpad) Fast, quiet w/ SSD Fingerprint login Thinkpad keyboard light (simple but effective for working in dark) Relatively thin & light (but no ultrabook!) Wakes instantly Relatively free of bloatware

Cons: Keyboard has a bit more flex than a Thinkpad should. Unit was a little dirty and came with a bad battery. However, I e-mailed the refurbisher (contact info was in the box) to tell them about the problem and that I hoped a refurb laptop would have at least 50%-60% battery capacity, not 20% like this seemed to have. They responded immediately, asked me for the S/N of the unit and my shipping address, and apologized for the trouble. I replied and a few days later I had a brand new battery that Windows says will last 4.3 hours. My only minor complaint is that they did not tell me they had shipped it, but from their e-mail it seemed pretty clear that they were going to do that without any further info needed, so I wasn't too worried.

Overall Review: I would love to give 5 eggs but for that the machine should have come with a good battery to begin with, and a bit more of the crud cleaned out of the keyboard. However, I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone considering it. It's a great deal, I did a lot of research before settling on this unit. Just remember, in dealing with customer service, you catch more flies with honey, so if you have any issues, just write the company nicely and let them surprise you.

Most Critical Review

A bit louder than I hoped

Antec EarthWatts Green EA-380D Green 380W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible
Antec EarthWatts Green EA-380D Green 380W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: It works Good selection of connectors

Cons: Maybe I just got a bad unit, but it was considerably louder than a 400W Corsair PSU I recently ordered from another vendor. Fortunately it was for a system that does not need to be ultra silent. I would probably not order another one.

Misleading description - does not provide wired connection for wired devices

Wavlink Updated 300Mbps WiFi Range Extender. N300 WiFi Repeater / Signal Booster / Access Point with WPS and AP Function, Mini Size, Ethernet Port, Update Edition : 519N2 -- Work with Any Routers
Wavlink Updated 300Mbps WiFi Range Extender. N300 WiFi Repeater / Signal Booster / Access Point with WPS and AP Function, Mini Size, Ethernet Port, Update Edition : 519N2 -- Work with Any Routers

Pros: It looks nice?

Cons: I bought this item believing it would enable me to connect my ethernet-only printer to my wifi network. Unfortunately the ethernet port is only for connecting this device itself to a wired network. Then I tried to put it in Repeater mode, just to see if I could get it to work at all, and when I launched the setup wizard, it just spun endlessly trying to detect networks (never finding any) but also the controls to manually enter wifi information were greyed out.

Overall Review: I am going to try this at work and at the cottage to see if it works there, hopefully I can get some use out of it. I hate returning stuff.

Great little keyboard

QUMAX Scorpius V6 Black USB Wired Mini Keyboard
QUMAX Scorpius V6 Black USB Wired Mini Keyboard

Pros: Compact size Sturdy build, almost feels like it's built of metal not plastic Clean, elegant, modern-looking design I like the chiclet style keys Rubber feet grip table surface well Good typing action in terms of key travel, feel and response Satisfying but not too loud clicking sound No number pad between my hand and my pointing device (I use a separate USB number pad that I position to the left of the keyboard instead)

Cons: PgUp and PgDn keys are positioned in a place that is taking some getting used to. If I were designing this keyboard I would make them the narrower keys like the arrow keys, place them vertically one above the other where the PgDn key is currently (left of the arrow keys), and use the space freed from the PgUp key for another Alt or Windows key. But this is a very minor issue, I'm sure I'll get used to the positioning of the PgUp/PgDn keys.

Overall Review: Just a great little keyboard. The reason I came back to this product page was to see if they make a separate number pad to match so I could order it. If you are looking for a compact USB keyboard, get this, it is worth the price. On each side of the back riser underneath there is a small rectangle that looks like it could be cut out for a USB port, suggesting there might be a model out there that also includes 2 USB ports for convenience.
