Works as Expected

Pros: Purchased to enable my DVI out from HTPC to a new Sammy 61" DLP (LED light engine version-- only has HDMI inputs). Seems to work perfectly as I can't identify any artifacts, ghosting, fuzziness, etc. from PC picture output when viewing movies, web browsing or playing PC games. Well built, seems heavy weight with a solid core.
Cons: It adds some weight at the connection so if it connects horizontally (typical) and you have a heavier DVI cable attached to it, it sort of droopd down at the HDMI connection into the TV. Hasn't been an issue or fallen/pulled out however.
Overall Review: That's it. AMC appears to be a capable company and has many higher quality connector products.
Works as expected

Pros: 24" Provides the reach needed for tall tower cases w/ drives in top bays. Clip holds it in tighter than w/out retention clip. Clear grey-ish color is nuetral and not as obvious as bright reds, orange, etc.
Cons: None
Good product

Pros: good option to help squeeze out all possible sources of vibration noises. Used on the fans of a HTPC. It also contains little silicone gasket washers to fit in with the fan-to-case screws.
Cons: none. questionable benefits, but if you are seeking the most possible silence, then it likely pays to be sure.
Another DOA but it worked out in the end

Pros: I'm adding another DOA to the list here. Purchased 2 and one arrived DOA. The "Pro" is that one of them was fine out of the box and the RMA replacement for the DOA worked as intended upon arrival and has been fine for ~8 months (initial purchase Jan08 -- just catching up on my reviews for Account profile). They are relatively quiet, but not the highest perfromers.
Cons: Purchased 2 of these for a RAID setup and one of them was pretty much DOA. First time it powered up, it made alot of crunching sounds and never really came to life. Not a big deal in some ways as it seems like hard drives have a large DPM for early life failure these days. Not sure if the failure rate is avoidable with more factory testing/screening and possibly its just cheaper to deal with the fallout at the end customer. I'm sure Newegg and other resellers would like lower failure rates/RMAs!!! But as a customer, it sure is annoying to have 50% failure rate, an extra $7 shipping and ~10 days before final recovery from it.
Overall Review: I'm telling you, if people's CPUs, DRAM, etc. failed as much for DOA, <30 days, etc. as these hard drives do, then customers would be screaming. >>> So why have customers become so forgiving to the hard drive manufacturers?
Good All Purpose Drive w/ Quality Scan Capability and decent DVD rip speeds

Pros: Often use the Lite-Ons to verify burn quality scans, however it can't do jitter scans. The 20A4P has been a great performer so far. Very High quality burn results using both MCC004 and MCM- code Verbatims at 12x as well as some acceptable results on Fuji branded Ritek05s (best error rates at 8x). Limited media brand testing so far. DVD rip speeds are good, however the drive is noticably louder during rip (not terrible). Most dual layer stamped DVDs average 4-6x near beginning and often peak at 9x-11x before ending. Typical 6-7GB DVD completes ripping in 10-18 mins depending on disc. Much improved over the NEC it replaced and it is about 1.5 inches shorter overall chasis as well leaving more room inside the tower case. A good overall PATA drive at a terrific price when combined w/ sale + free shipping + quality scanning and good rip speed
Cons: None really at this point. Sure wish it could be dead silent as well, but that is unrealistic.
Overall Review: Purchased this DH-20A4P-04 Lite-On to replace an NEC3550. I've been very pleased with the LH-20A1L-06 drive I have in another PC (purchased in summer'07). The 20A1L SATA burner has been great and I anticipate similar results from this 20A4P. Also have the Pioneer DVR-112D and that drive has been similarly terrific as well although no quality scanning.
