Most Critical Review

This screen has a lot going for it but it evens out in the end.

Pros: So many features and so many that I don't even use. I have to say that the resolution is great, and the aspect ratio is perfect for having two windows take up each half of the screen. The inputs are great I can switch effortlessly between my cable box and laptop by setting one of the monitor buttons to input select. Audio out is great for this too as I don't have to swap speaker wires every time I switch the video. The USB hub is also super helpful since my MBP has only 2 USB 3.0 ports.

Cons: Minor inconveniences here and there. HDMI port in the back is too close to the DVI port, no configuration of the HDMI and DVI cables will fit next to each other. Before the driver update, I tried to test out DP1.2 mode not knowing that it wasn't supported on my current nVidia drivers. The monitor disconnected and then obviously filed to connect but then the only freaking options are to switch inputs after that. I was at work and there were no other devices to use so i was stuck there looking at a blank screen until I brought it back home. Another thing with DP1.2 mode is there is some white artifacting going on, haven't been able to track down if it's the monitor or graphics card yet. PBP mode (two inputs side by side) is a huge novelty. Its a nice idea but there are limited scaling options for this and its pretty much suited for two 4:3 signals at that point.

Overall Review: Great res with a unique form factor but one of the advertised selling points (PBP Mode) ends up being a toy. Considering getting a 2nd one though and daisy chaining to my Macbook Pro (9,1). Does anyone who magically owns two of these know if that set up would work?

Pretty poor manufacturing

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) NOTEBOOKCOOLER

Pros: Great it held up this long I guess. Metal surface is great for MacBook Pros that would probably melt a plastic one.

Cons: The coaxial connector on the fan is busted on the inside and no plug will work of course. Also on both my laptops the fan for the CPU is off the to the side and the cooling is pretty directed to the center with this fan.

Overall Review: I actually ripped the thing open and soldered the wire it came with directly into its controller board. Not even really sure why it was a separate piece.
