ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Lots of I/O

Cons: Stability and reliability SUCKS.

Other Thoughts: I received my "repaired" motherboard today from Asus' repair center, and spent most of today installing it into my chassis and getting things working again after being without it for about a month. It worked fine for about one hour, and the SAME ISSUE HAS RETURNED. I am getting a consistent "Overclock Error" at boot and I AM NOT OVERCLOCKING.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, as Asus had such a good reputation. My experience has been quite the opposite. I am requesting a NEW PRODUCTION MOTHERBOARD REPLACEMENT. I'm tired of being without my PC due to an issue that Asus cannot seem to address. I only wish I could get a refund for such a lousy product.

ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Out of the box, this board took less than 5 minutes to install into my chassis. Board is well organized, and has sufficient SATA-III ports for my needs.

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an Asus Rampage V Extreme that I bought in late-November 2014. The Asus board became flaky and eventually died Sunday. I'm going back and forth with them now as they work through their process, but I am likely going to have to write it off as a loss. Bottom line is that the board died on me.

I like the ASRock board, although it has only been about 5 hours since I powered it on. Seems plenty quick and stable.

2 out of 5 eggs Worked fine initially, and then... 02/14/2015

This review is from: ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Allows for uber-tweaking capabilities.

Cons: Reliability seems to be suspect.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this product for less than three months, and this week began getting prompts at boot indicating that my overclocking was causing problems. The only problem is that I'm not overclocking... Today, things went downhill in a hurry. The system will not boot at all and I seem to be stuck with a brick at the moment. :(
