Monster case, good service

Antec TITAN650 Black Steel Pedestal Server /Workstation Case w/ 650W Power Supply 4 x 5.25" (one with 5.25" to 3.5" adapter) External 5.25" Drive Bays

Pros: I don’t write reviews often, but Antec earned this. The case came in perfect condition (which is what I have come to expect from Antec and Newegg). It is a LARGE, HEAVY pedestal case, which is exactly what I wanted. There is plenty of room to work, and I was easily able to mount an ASUS KGPE-D16 board (12.0" x 13.0"). The power supply is a solid modular unit and the drive rails worked perfectly. Here is what impressed me. The unit did have a defective power LED. I call Antec and after waiting a few minutes on hold talked to pleasant young man who was very eager to help. He answered a couple of questions for me and then said he was dropping the needed part into an envelope which he was going to mail me. The part showed up in my mail box two working days later. He sent me the power LED AND another complete set of LEDs for the chassis “just in case…”. This is great service. He didn’t just write up a case for some “fulfillment” person to solve, he personally shipped the part.

Cons: Defective LED which Antec took care of immediately.

Rosewill RDCR-12001 Multi-in-one USB 2.0 & SATA Internal Card Reader w/ 2.5" HDD/SSD Enclosure
Rosewill RDCR-12001 Multi-in-one USB 2.0 & SATA Internal Card Reader w/ 2.5" HDD/SSD Enclosure

Pros: Not much.

Cons: 1 - (Important) When I hook this device to the USB connecter on the motherboard and to a Molex connector from the PSU it generates a voltage through the 12v circuit of the machine even when it is turned off. THE FANS EVEN START TO SPIN UP! This happened with two power supplies. There is some kind of a short in this thing and I don't want to take a chance with it in my build. 2- It did work, but when I inserted a 2.5" hard drive and then removed it the machine wouldn't shut down normally. I had to turn it off with the power switch. I tried this twice with the same results. 3- The device is built poorly. The front cover came off with two insertion and removal of hard disks. The spring that closes the cover when the disk is removed is held in place by hot melt. Not a glob of hot melt, but a thin smear of the stuff that won't hold anything.

Overall Review: I have read a lot of bad reviews concerning Rosewill quality and have stayed away from these products for the most part. The idea of an additional 2.5" bay caused me to order this. I learn the hard way I guess.
