Good receiver for price/category
Pros: 6 HDMI's HDMI pass through for video and audio Programmable IR remote Excellent digital audio decoding Phone app interface and music streaming
Cons: No back lit for remote No decoder for analog to digital (the vsx-1123-k supports this and is an additional $100)
Overall Review: I've used this receiver for 2.5 months at the time of writing this review, and I'm very satisfied with this purchase. You do require some tech knowledge for proper configuration of your home theater environment. I purchased this device strictly as an HDMI receiver for my Home Theater PC. At the time of purchase, the unit came with Pioneer's SP-FS51-LR tower speakers at no additional cost. I completed the 7.1 surround with NXG's NX-BAS-500 sub and Pioneer's SP-C22 with 4 x SP-BS22 speakers. Primary audio sources for testing: Bluray DTS-HD 7.1/5.1, DTS-EX, SACD Other audio sources: 320k mp3 and FLAC over wifi It's hard to describe this system without having it turn into an article. The system has fine tuning for the advanced audio enthusiast but still has a quick configuration setup that does a pretty good job for the novice. The phone app does a good job controlling the receiver. It also allows quick and easy streaming of your favorite tunes from your phone over LAN. The unit does support Zone 2, but you will have to choose between 7.1 or 5.1 audio with zone 2 . The IR remote has limited program-ability to work with a wide range televisions. The unit also has HDMI pass through which lets you watch tv from and HDMI source without having the receiver on. Last firmware update now supports Spotify.
Connectivity issues
Pros: Works well when it works.
Cons: Limited game support, known connectivity issues to android devices
Overall Review: The device is comfortable and sturdy, but the connectivity issue makes it moot. Recommendations - wait for a better controller.
AIO works great
Pros: Used to cool a 5950x Ryzen and temps were holding at 65 C on full load at 3.9 GHz. This AIO out performs the Noctua NH-D15 for cooling.
Cons: The installation was not as easy as some of my other coolers, but still simple enough.
Overall Review: Low cost for a reasonable AIO cooler.
First Impressions
Pros: >Camera size is compact >Reasonable operating temperatures >Front/rear camera in a single unit; records to a single micro sd >Detachable base unit
Cons: >Rear facing camera does not have night vision >Base charging unit seems to be defective out of box >Still using old mini B male USB connector >SD Card limitation of 32 GB (see notes below)
Overall Review: The camera has a nice quality feel to it, but out the box the base charging port was not working. I'm not sure if it's the connection within the base unit or if it's the camera. For testing I'm using the charging port directly on the camera. The description has the camera limited to a 32Gb micro SD card, but I put in a 64Gb micro SD, formatted it, and it seems to be running on it just fine. Not sure if the camera is just using 32Gb of formatted space, but I'll update the review at a later date. Update: The window base charge is now working. Seems like it just needed some breaking in to get going.
Class 4-5 at best
Pros: The read times aren't too bad
Cons: Write times are terrible. This is a class 4-5 drive at best. Write speeds are on average of 4.7 mb/s. My external 2.5 inch sata easily out performs this for on the go purposes.
Overall Review: If it doesn't state the read/write speeds, it's not worth your time.
Do not trust
-Ordered two items, neither shipped to the correct address filed on Newegg -Replied to initial query about item purchased and no additional response from seller since
Not sure how to rate this purchase
Item advertised as if it came with air cooler; it came with none thing but the processor. When processing the RMA to Newegg; seller kept emailing me to circumvent the return to Newegg RMA address and send directly to them. Shipping took 2 full week for delivery. Just from this experience, I'm very leery of buying 3rd party on Newegg.
