Good
Pros: Price 2GB module Purdy blue heat spreader Price
Cons: none
Overall Review: I have two of these now and they work great. My positive experiences with G Skill are now 5/5. I'm very happy with them.
1/2
Pros: Cheap as hell when I bought them here.
Cons: Twice the price in a few months. One stick works at 1066 the other at 800.
Overall Review: I have been using Gskill for several years with no reported problems until now. I have several 800 MHz modules that look surprisingly similar to these and I suspect that those same 800 modules are just affixed with a sticker claiming to be 1066 if you increase the voltage to 2.1v. I accepted this for a while and ran at 800MHz but since the price just doubled, I sent for an RMA today on the module that will not run at 1066, almost a year after my purchase.
Made me laugh
Pros: I bought the Tower 500 because the picture made me laugh out loud and was on sale for much cheaper than normal. If I don't like it as a computer case, I can install a grow light and start plants in it. Lots of room to mount drives hidden behind motherboard and in the bottom with power supply. Comes with two noisy fans.
Cons: Video card exhausts into the top of the case and runs hotter than it did in my old case. Gotta do something about that.
Overall Review: I think I like it and probably will not use it as a greenhouse. Looking at a 5 pack of 140mm fans.
Not the best for OC
Pros: Price
Cons: You can't just set and lock the vcore like you can with the better z68 models. In order to overclock you have to use an offset to adjust voltage and it can be a bit of a pain.
Overall Review: If you are planning on overclocking, do yourself a favor and get the next model up.
0 for 3
Pros: Powerful 3 year warranty
Cons: No good for 2 monitors I'm on my third bad one in just over a year. I guess they put some bubble-gum on the broken ones and ship them off to some other unsuspecting fool. Oct '10 - March '11 April '11 - Oct '11 Nov'11 - Nov '11 Do I spend $12 to return it again or just buy an Nvidia 570? LOL, sigh.
