This review is from: XION EN-450F12BK 450W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Pros: Cheap price. Good replacement for an aging system that I didn't want to go all Corsair on.
Cons: No wrap on the cables, makes for a messy build. Don't use this PSU if you're looking to make a nice, clean-looking system interior, unless you find enjoyment in sleeving cables yourself. I knew this going in, but it's going to cost an egg.
I got jipped out of the mail-in rebate because the box this PSU was packaged in was for a 500 or 550 watt PSU with a different model number. However, the model number on the unit itself is EN-450F12BK. I didn't notice this until I was preparing docs for the mail-in rebate, and the UPC I cut out of the box didn't match any of the model numbers listed on the rebate form.
I don't even remember what model was listed on the UPC, all I know is it wasn't one that was eligible for the rebate. I've since thrown all of that stuff out since I obviously had no need for it at that point and I wasn't going to sweat the $10 that I think the rebate was for, but I have to say in all the years I've been buying PC parts, this was a first for me. That'll cost another egg.
Other Thoughts: Bah, mail-in rebates are rubbish regardless... I never receive them half the time anyway.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Orange MOUC6838BK Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel PS/2 Wired Optical 800 dpi Mouse
Pros: It was free.
Cons: Have yet to find a use for it. It's never been taken out of the box.
Other Thoughts: Got it for free with... Something. I don't remember what. I guess it never hurts to have a spare PS/2 mouse sitting around. You never know what relic someone might dump off on you for servicing. Thankfully no one has sent any relics my way in some time.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Rosewill RCX-Z300 - 92mm CPU Cooler Fan - Ball Bearing
Pros: None, really.
Cons: LOUD. Vibrates something fierce.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an aging heat sink/fan on an old LGA 775 Pentium 4. I replaced it because the cooler I originally installed was beyond the point of cleaning and it had also been in use for the better part of 8 years and got pretty loud. So I got this in the hopes of minimizing the noise a bit without breaking my wallet for an ancient non-mission critical CPU that is still somewhat in use, believe it or not. Once again, I've proven to myself that when it comes to PC tech/hardware, you get what you pay for...READ FULL REVIEW
