This review is from: Diablo III: Reaper of Souls PC Game
Pros: Game is totally revamped. This is so much better than the original Diablo III release. Auction house is gone, which was a TERRIBLE idea to begin with. Loot 2.0 system has made a huge difference, the game is actually fun now. Crusader class is great. This game now reminds me of my Diablo II addiction more and more every day...
Cons: I really don't have any. I'm actually enjoying this game now and logging as many hours as I did with Diablo II. Only time will tell if it holds my interest like Diablo II did...
Other Thoughts: Blizzard, THANK YOU for fixing this broken game. I pre-ordered Diablo III through Newegg, but I got RoS as digital download directly from Battle.net. I was very critical in my Newegg review on the original Diablo III game. The game just wasn't good. Blizzard has made good on this and this now feels more like teh Diablo III that I waited 10 years for.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Good HDD so far. Better performance than the HDD it replaced. 7200 RPM. 16 MB cache. WD Black dual processor design.
Cons: Battery life is a bit shorter than with the previous HDD that was in this netbook I put it in, though not really a con for me, as this was basically common sense when going into the purchase. Higher RPM drives will do this to laptops/netbooks, but it's worth mentioning for those who may be upgrading. WD Black drives perform well, but as always, there's a price for that performance.
Along with that decrease in battery life, the one other typical sacrifice made in the name of performance is an increase in operational temperature. Don't get me wrong, this drive actually runs very cool, but it is running a little warmer than the drive it replaced. I highly doubt this will be a problem though, unless I'm using this netbook in high ambient temps.
Other Thoughts: Please note that my cons listed above are just in the interest of a fair review. Neither are cons to me, I wanted to try to make an older netbook useful again, and wanted the added performance that this HDD can offer.
the drive it replaced was an older Hitachi Deskstar 5400 RPM drive with an 8 MB cache. This WD Black drive has definitely produced a noticeable increase in overall performance. Before this upgrade, along with an increase in RAM capacity, this netbook was pretty sluggish in all aspects, but now it boots in half the time it used to take, and Windows 7 Starter and other programs are much quicker and have snappier response times now. Overall, I'm happy with the performance increase. The netbook still bottlenecks at the Intel Atom N450 CPU in it, so I'm limited to that regardless.
Also worth noting - I was very hesitant to get this drive due to the notoriously spotty quality control of 3.5" WD Black desktop drives in recent years. I'd like to think that a lot of the QC issues going on were in direct relation to the Thailand floods a few years back, perhaps the failure rates of WD Black desktop drives were a direct effect of whatever potential at-risk inventory they had left over after the flood. That being said, this is a new drive design/product, and if my aforementioned assumption is in any way correct, then this drive shouldn't be part of that leftover inventory.
Fingers crossed, hopefully I get a good, long life out of this drive.
Pros: Good RAM, pretty tight timings. Haven't had any issues.
Other Thoughts: Got one of these to breathe new life into an HP netbook. The thing had one lousy GB of RAM in it before, and trying to run Windows 7 Starter on it was pretty painful. It's still not a speed demon by any means, but this made a very noticeable difference in overall performance.READ FULL REVIEW
