ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: *One of the few AMD boards with dual 16x PCI-E slots and SLI! *The board feels sturdy/durable *Useful features to facilitate setup (MEMOK button, RAM error light, quick-connects for power and front panel LEDs, etc) *I was able to run onboard audio out through one of my 9800 GTs (HDMI). Sounds great and minimizes connections to my TV/speakers *ASUS typically has excellent USA-based customer support *Lots of tweaking options which should make overclockers happy *I have one available PCI-E slot even when running SLI *Supports DDR3 (check QVL) from most manufacturers *Supports hybrid SLI (but you want this board for real SLI)

Cons: *No video out on motherboard despite that there's a decent on-board GPU? I realize that everyone who buys this board is going to want to put at least one video card in it but not having even a VGA output on the motherboard could make troubleshooting difficult.

Overall Review: Even with two big video cards, it's easy to access most of the things on this board. This is a well designed board for an SLI system. Still, if you have an SLI setup, you will almost definitely not have access to the two middle PCI slots between the two x16 PCI-E slots and you might lose either or both of the other two PCI-E slots (this depends on the form factor of your video cards). I still have the top PCI-E slot. One controller for all 5 SATA ports means you can't run RAID on some HHDs and not-RAID on others without installing a separate SATA controller (I think) which might be difficult if you are running SLI (see above). This could be a problem for some systems. Worth the money?

RAZER Mamba Black 7 Buttons USB Laser Gaming Mouse - Dual Mode Wired/Wireless Functionality
RAZER Mamba Black 7 Buttons USB Laser Gaming Mouse - Dual Mode Wired/Wireless Functionality

Pros: Looks right Comfortable Good hardware all around. Good range, precise, good battery life, etc.

Cons: The software is absurd. So is the price?

Overall Review: The mouse is very precise and I have not had any issues with lag, etc. It seems to be every bit a gaming mouse. It looks very very nice and is comfortable. Every inch of it oozes quality. Except the software. The software is a joke. If I knew of a better way to adjust the DPI, I would uninstall the Razer software. It takes like almost a minute to load and pretty much a minute to apply any changes you make. 10% of the time it just hangs and doesn't do anything. Luckily, once you setup the mouse, you can kill the service. To be perfectly honest, I am mostly keeping this mouse because it looks sexy. There is probably not practical reason to choose this mouse over a R.A.T. or the latest from Microsoft or Logitech.

Does its job

KINGWIN ATK-25U3-BK Aluminum 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure
KINGWIN ATK-25U3-BK Aluminum 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure

Pros: -Well built -Extra hardware and cables -Works

Cons: None, really

Overall Review: The blue light is kind of cheesy but otherwise this is a solid enclosure. It works fine with Sata II or III drives, SSDs, etc. USB 3.0 cable included as well as an extra cable so that you can use this with a USB 2.0 port. It comes with extra screws and even a little screwdriver. All of this fits in the black carrying case (included).

iLuv USB Car Adapter & Cable Combo For iPhone (iAD562)

Pros: Charges all kinds of things Price is right

Cons: None

Overall Review: This is a standard USB inverter which will charge pretty much anything that will charge from a USB port. I've used mine to charge my HTC phone, iPod, an iPad, someone else's iPhone, and a camera. Don't pay for a unique/proprietary car charger. Just get this and use a USB cable. It has a pale blue light that you can't turn off. It makes the unit easy to find in the dark but may be annoying for some.

Pretty good HTPC keyboard

IOGEAR GKM561R Black 2.4GHz Wireless HTPC Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel
IOGEAR GKM561R Black 2.4GHz Wireless HTPC Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel

Pros: Decent trackball Good range (YMMV) Solid construction Price is right Works with Windows 7 (See "Other thoughts")

Cons: Must completely disassemble the keyboard to remove the trackball (to clean it)

Overall Review: They keyboard feels like a laptop keyboard - short keys and short key presses. The clicks are nice and solid and the keyboard is compact. The trackball is actually pretty solid. If you shake the keyboard violently, the pointer will jump around but it stays put otherwise. For instance: it doesn't jump around while you're typing. The effective range (my estimate) is about 25ft with the receiver behind the tower. This product is exactly what it claims to be. ***Media keys will not work with Windows 7 unless the Human Interface Device Access service is enabled*** (set it to automatic)

Recommended for Starcraft II

GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card GV-N98TGR-512I

Pros: *Price is right *Specs make sense *Seems to run cool - the GPU temp never goes above about 75C under load (extender furmark sessions) *S/PDIF passthrough cables included *Seems like a solid, sturdy build *Not overly thick so you probably won't block all of your PCI slots. :)

Cons: *looks like it might be getting harder to find?

Overall Review: The card is obviously large but so are most comparable cards. I have two of these in SLI but I only need one to run Starcraft II beautifully (high-ultra). Not much else to say about it. The gigabyte gamer HUD is kind of cheesy but apparently you can use it to O.C. the card. I haven't messed around with that. Based on the specs, this is actually a better card than the new Gigabyte GeForce GT 240 which is replacing it. If you can, buy this card over the Gigabyte GV-N240D3-1GI GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit - especially if you want SLI.
