XFX Double D Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity HD-695X-CDFC

Pros: I am making another review on this card because my first card was defective. Since then XFX has replaced it with another video card. XFX customer support was great at handling the issue. I haven't had any problems at all with the replacement card nor have I been able to break the 70c mark while playing anything! This was my first XFX purchase and I am very happy with it. I will be buying more from XFX in the future.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Stays very cool ,great fps, easily overclockable, fans are quiet even at 100%.

XFX Double D Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity HD-695X-CDFC

Pros: Runs games at good fps.Has not crashed my system or given me black screens or artifacting unlike some 6870s I've tried.Has not melted or caught anything on fire...yet.

Cons: Two days ago when I got this card I was looking forward to having a video card that may actually work. After removing my old 4870, uninstalling the drivers and removing the leftovers with driver sweeper, I installed this card only to get stuck at 20% during installation of Catalyst. "currently installing: amd display driver" After multiple attempts I was finally able to get Catalyst installed without errors. Decided to use APB Reloaded as the first game to test this card with. In less than 3 minutes the card went from 42°C to 88°C. Right then I knew something wasn't right.I enabled overdrive in Catalyst to crank up the fan speed to 80%. At this time I could hear one of the fans on the card making a clicking sound.Letting the fan stay at 80% managed to get the temp down to 86°C.Still I thought this was way too hot for just being idle in APB.Shut the game down and set the fan speed to 50%.Was tired of hearing the annoying clicking of the fan...Continued in Other thoughts...

Overall Review: Used Counter Strike Source as the 2nd game.Went to a small map on a empty server, cs_assault to be exact. While crouching through the vent at Terrorist spawn I was able to get the cards' temp up to 102°C! After climbing out of the vent the temp never dropped below 78°C. Third game to try was Crysis 2. Two minutes into the game, Average temp was 89°C sometimes going up to 98°C. I have a Xion Predator computer case that is mostly made of mesh and loaded with 7 fans so I know air flow isn't an issue.Normally my case stays very cool. This is by far the hottest card I have ever owned.Right now It's Winter months and my room normally stays very cool 60°F to 65°F but this card is enough to turn it into a furnace.I can not even imagine what's going to happen in July or August. I can easily see the cards' temps reaching 115°c to 130°c. These temps can't be normal. The GPU is either defective or the heatsink is not attached properly. Not to mention the clicking sound i'm hearing when the fans are up

Black screen crashing

Pros: Runs great when it's working.

Cons: Crashes computer at random times with black screen.Monitor gets no signal.

Overall Review: I have tested this card with various games and quite a few times have crashed with "monitor no signal" black screen. Is forced to do a hard reboot.I have tried the newest drivers as well as the old ones that came with the card.Did a lot of reading to try to fix the problem and have come to the conclusion that the problem is either the power supply or the graphics card.I hooked up my old power supply thinking maybe my new one was faulty but after 30 minutes of gaming my monitor loses signal once again and have to restart by pressing power button.
