I'm in love!

ione Libra P5 Black 5 Buttons RF Wireless Laser mouse with built in laser pointer
ione Libra P5 Black 5 Buttons RF Wireless Laser mouse with built in laser pointer

Pros: Excellent range...at least as advertised(I know...I tried it); Built solid.;

Cons: Can't type on/with it. :-))

Overall Review: left/right click buttons; scroll function; refresh button; joystick style cursor operation (a little awkward but you get use to it); laser pointer(yawn) This is a neat little device for someone (like me!) who wants to control their HTPC from the sofa. I have thousands of mp3's and I can control Windows Media Player with this little gadget and also surf the internet. Worth the money for sure.

Most Critical Review

Diagonal Size Specification caution

Microsoft 3DT-00002 Surface Hub 55" All-in-One Computer Multi-Touch Display - Intel Core i5 - Desktop - Bilingual (Demo)
Microsoft 3DT-00002 Surface Hub 55" All-in-One Computer Multi-Touch Display - Intel Core i5 - Desktop - Bilingual (Demo)

Pros: The specification of Diagonal size for this screen on Newegg's site is drastically different than on the manufactuer's website for the same screen (Targa 115346): On Newegg: 218" On Draper's website: 67"

Cons: none.

Overall Review: Just that it's a huge descrepancy that prospective buyers should be aware of and investigate before purchasing. Also, had to give it a "star" rating so I gave it a 3 despite the fact that I actually don't own it.

A waste of good money

WAHL 9243-517N Corded Home Pro 22-Piece Haircut Kit
WAHL 9243-517N Corded Home Pro 22-Piece Haircut Kit

Pros: none

Cons: totally worthless

Overall Review: Don't waste your money purchasing these clippers. The two screws that hold the metal blades on will be too tight for the blades to move and then when you loosen them a little, they will vibrate out. I've owned these for more than a year (should've trashed them long ago) and am pretty technically/mechanically inclined; but these clippers are beyond hope.

Best Bang for the Buck

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 2.8 GHz LGA 775 65W Desktop Processor - BX80571E7400
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 2.8 GHz LGA 775 65W Desktop Processor - BX80571E7400

Pros: It's a Wolfdale (fast!). Cheaper than the E7300 (go figure); Highly overclockable;

Cons: At this price, are you kidding?!

Overall Review: The Wolfdale core is considered the best of the dual cores. No AMD dual core can compete...it's been proved. This processor replaced an AMD 3800+ (single core) in my HTPC along with an ASUS P5E-VM HDMI mobo. This makes a nice pairing. The E7xxx series processors are dumb-downed versions of the E8xxx series with half the L2 cache and 1066 FSB instead of 1333. However, it's highly overclockable as evident from doing some research. I have it oc.'ed to only 3GHz (it's just a HTPC for crying out loud) and the core temps haven't budged much from stock temps (40-43*, depending on how/where it's read). I'm using the ASUS V72 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler to tame the temps. My E8400 in the office is oc'ed from 3 to 3.4 without a wimper and is begging for more! I'm quite sure the 7400 will do 3.2g stable but I have no need to do so for my application, although I do uSoft Flight Sim. X. This cpu is a steal now and if price goes down even further, it'd be highway robbery. If it fits your app., get i

Get It!

ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: solid intel chipsets; stable; good oc options; good infrastructure/architecture; quality components; good on-board sound; firewire; lots of sata ports with raid options/configurations. ASUS quality.

Cons: no DDR3 support. It costs >25% less than it did when I bought it. ;-( A con for me, but not for you.

Overall Review: This is a solid mobo...especially for the price (w/rebate) it's available for now (about a Hamilton over a hundred bucks). Booted-up first time out of the starting blocks and has never hicupped since. Good utilities. I don't use "Express Gate"-kinda pointless if you ask me. Went with ASUS again 'cause the first build w/a P4 more than 6 yrs. ago is still going strong (although my builds with MSI mobo's are still going strong too). Get it while it's cheap!

Works as advertised

Vantec 2.5" / 3.5" / 5.25" SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2

Pros: Easy. AC pwr. cord has an on/off switch which I understand is a new addition.

Cons: none.

Overall Review: Out of the box, I backed up a system drive to DVD on my laptop (using Acronis True Image software). Had to unplug then replug the USB connection to the laptop before WinXP would recognize the device. No big deal. Worked great.
