Great Monitor
Pros: It works and displays a picture and produces sounds.
Cons: None unless you use a VGA cable. I originally had a VGA cable and saw horizontal scan lines in the middle section of the screen. The remedy was to upgrade to a DVI/HDMI style cable.
Overall Review: This was a great upgrade for me, especially for the price. I had ordered this in a package deal with the Rosewill RMS-MA3210 Silver 17"-37" Tilt/Swivel Wall mount. Excellent combo, freed up my desk and the monitor is now at a perfect height. Back to the monitor and its sound. If you are planning to have great sound or as a replacement for some old speakers well... It makes sound. It seems to be only treble, kind of like tweeters in an automobile. But, if you do have some speakers it makes a nice compliment. Also, it seems that ViewSonic does not have any drivers/updates for Windows XP, not that I needed it, it plug-n-played just fine. All in all, it does what it was intended to do.
Nice big fancy GPU!
Pros: Wonderful upgrade over my old GPU (granted it is about five years old). I'm able to crank the graphics up on Batman: Arkham City. It made a huge difference with Path of Exile although that could be due to Grinding Gear Games doing re-optimizations of their game. Before this GPU I had to run at the lowest settings for PoE and mid-high for the rest of my games. Now I just max it and adjust for anisotropic filtering/anti-aliasing/v-sync.
Cons: None so far with the unit itself. I apologize that I don't remember the name of the program the Nvidia uses to optimize (or auto-config at the least) their GPUs but it doesn't like Windows XP. It will install and run but when you try to optimize it will prompt you that you need Windows 7/8. Driver updates are not affected by the lack of Windows 7/8. Other than that it works fantastically.
Overall Review: Compared to my old GPU this thing is huge. I had to modify my mid-tower ever so slightly for it to fit. I had read (when researching for a new GPU) that you should have at least 650w? Well I got a 900w PSU so that was covered. It does have two plugs for power so you may want to make sure you can accommodate that.
Wow, modern PSUs are awesome!
Pros: I was completely surprised with the modular technology. Ive never seen it before and it is GENIUS! Dude, they send you a bag with a ton of different cables so you just have to run the ones you need. It has separate 'ports' for components that don't require extra power (drives) and ones that do require extra juice (GPUs). It is capable of powering two GPUs if needed.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: The bag of cables is awesome. I feel like a real man with all these cables. This PSU should be able to stand on its two feet for awhile. With plenty of options for adding power to more peripherals I think this PSU will last a few computer upgrades. I'm not sure how long 900w will last me but for my use I assume I should be good for at least the next 5 years.
Awesome Stand
Pros: Sturdy. Holds the monitor up in the air. Adjustable swing arms.
Cons: The large screws that hold the mount base to the wall are cheap. Make sure you don't strip them out. I almost stripped mine until I turned the drill down for torque and really put to weight on the drill.
Overall Review: I bought this in combo with the ViewSonic VA2246M-LED Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor. This is probably the single greatest purchase I have made in a long time. I have never had a wall mount for my monitor but now I don't know how I could go without. It is extremely adjustable. I am able to move it away for general BSing and when I need to concentrate I can pull it closer. When my roommate and I watch movies on Netflix I'm able to adjust it so we can both watch comfortably. If you have never had a wall mount before I strongly recommend you give it a shot! I don't know how I cannot live without one.
