ASUS Laptop G75 Series Intel Core i7-3720QM 16GB Memory 750GB HDD 256 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit G75VW-NS72

Pros: -High performance in very demanding games -QUIET -Very good cooling/ventilation system -Easy to clean and maintain -Plenty of ports -Designed to be durable - Brushed aluminum surrounding keyboard/most of the body. -1920 x 1080 Resolution Screen -Comfortable to use

Cons: -Screen assembly feels a bit cheap as though there isn't enough binding holding the frame on, and the plastic frame around the screen feels a bit cheap compared to the rest of the laptop, which is made mostly from brushed aluminum encased by a rubberized plastic. -Despite there being a subwoofer, the quality is on par with what you get with a $20 speaker setup. Not much of a con, though, since gaming usually involves a headset. -It's heavy and large - be warned that this is a desktop replacement and may not fit in some backpacks or sleeves, and weighs a lot. -Battery life is short. Like two hours short. But again not much of a complaint since it's essentially a desktop replacement and is running a 670M and a cooling system. -Pre-partitioned hard drives are a pain.

Overall Review: I'm going to be a freshman in college as a computer science major and had my sights on this PC since before its release. I'm an avid gamer, and I went into this expecting a high weight and large size as it is mostly a desktop replacement. We purchased the G75-VW-RS72 (which is a slightly different model with almost the same hardware - the "free" ROG gear jacks up the price) from another retailer which was offering custom builds. This model closest models what we purchased, and I absolutely love it. The "Cons" aren't so much problems but what separates it from being an absolutely ideal machine, and are more so warnings to potential buyers who might not be aware of what this is really designed for. The cooling system is absolutely amazing. The laptop has yet to get even remotely hot despite some all-day gaming marathons this summer and extensive "AFK" periods while playing graphically-demanding MMO's. The noise level is also incredibly low. Overall, amazing machine.
