Inexpensive ok headset

Arctic Cooling P253BT Bluetooth Headphones with Mic
Arctic Cooling P253BT Bluetooth Headphones with Mic

Pros: Good very basic headset. I am using them with a pc. Connectivity is fine at least for my use. Within the room I have the computer no problem. Also will stay connected a room or two away albeit there are a few dead spots. Tried it with an Android Tablet, worked ok also. The unit charges via a usb cable and seems to run quite a time between charges. Sound quality is fair. I use it for general use so it's not an issue for me. Not believing in loud music over headsets of any sort makes it also not an issue. It has a mic. but I haven't used it so no comment there. All in all, for general occasional use, a very decent value.

Cons: Nothing special. It is an inexpensive headset. I did not expect fabulous fidelity so I am more than ok with it. If you think you want loud, high quality reproduction you better spend the big bucks. Then start saving for the hearing aids you'll need later in life.

Most Critical Review

New Egg the Best

Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: The drive sure looked pretty but I am sucker for things electronic. Drive was defective and I chose to return it. NewEgg handled the issue with great understanding, speed and consideration. Absolutely the best online vendor out there. Based on prior experience and reviews of this product I would still purchase it. It was probably just one of those things that happens with all products from time to time. Would not "Egg" the product at all if I could avoid it so I am giving three just to satisfy the system.

Cons: Drive had a very noisy motor or something was out of balance. When installed in an external case it made my desk vibrate. The case even has heavy rubber isolators to keep down noise. Again, however, I regard this as an anomaly and will still buy WD.

Overall Review: The true test of a vendor is not when everything goes right. It's easy when the product is pulled from stock, shipped and delivered promptly. It is easy when the product functions properly. When something goes wrong that's the true test. NewEgg proved to be as reliable as I thought in handling this.

Not for Me

NETGEAR 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (GS605AV)
NETGEAR 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (GS605AV)

Pros: Looks nice. Worked ok at first

Cons: My fault for grabbing at the unit when it had an attractive price. Didn't read the listing thoroughly enough. My turn to be stupid. It has QOS with no configuration options that I could find. With QOS enabled on my router the switch didn't perform very well. Turned off QOS and it all came to life. Unfortunately, it lasted a few months, enough time so I couldn't return it to Newegg. Then the data rate on anything plugged into it dropped like a stone. I finally gave up and replaced it with something else. With everything else wired the same as the Netgear unit I started to get very respectable data transfer rates without any drama. Also no problems selecting which port to use with what.

Overall Review: With these low priced items it can be dicey whether it pays to return them if they fail. In this case, given the price I paid, I will simply recycle the thing. Not a slap at Netgear. They might have simply replaced it. But shipping costs are too high these days.

This thing is great

Logitech Recertified 920-002555 MK550 Black USB RF Wireless Ergonomic Wave Combo (K350 + M510)
Logitech Recertified 920-002555 MK550 Black USB RF Wireless Ergonomic Wave Combo (K350 + M510)

Pros: The keyboard is extremely comfortable to use. I like it even better than my old Microsoft Natural Keyboard and I love that thing. It has some extra multimedia and other buttons. Some I use, some I do not. The zoom key on the left is excellent. Enlarges\shrinks the browser fast and easily. Mouse, part of the package, works as well or better than any wired mouse I ever use. Not a lot of extra buttons but I don't need them anyway. The wireless connectivity is excellent. I haven't tried it from across the street but it might even work that way. I never realized how much the wires from the kb and mouse annoyed me until they were gone, gone, gone. I was concerned about turning off the mouse and keyboard manually every time I used them. Discovered that left alone they both seem to turn themselves off. Haven't touched the on\off switches since I put the first set of batteries in the two devices. Drivers--no major issues but see the one con below.

Cons: No real cons here just be aware that there are no lights on the kb. It is battery powered. Driver were fine. The only issue I started to work but never resolved (my fault not Logitech or my MB Mfg. They both offered to help) is the KB will not launch a cold start. On the other hand no usb keyboard will do that on my MB. Works fine if I plug in an old PS2 Kb I have laying around here. I didn't follow up on this yet. It can't be all that important to me I guess. Just afraid of wearing out my PC case switch.

Overall Review: Great keyboard and mouse combo. I'd buy it again tomorrow. The sale price on got on it sure didn't hurt either.

D-Link PowerLine AV Mini Adapter Starter Kit (DHP-311AV) Includes 2 Adapters, Up To 200Mbps
D-Link PowerLine AV Mini Adapter Starter Kit (DHP-311AV) Includes 2 Adapters, Up To 200Mbps

Pros: Other people seem to get good results. I already submitted a review but forgot one item.

Cons: Didn't work properly for me

Overall Review: The missing item: Hey D-Link and the rest of you. If you expect me to use and recommend your product at least take a few minutes to have someone that speaks some kind of standard English review the software, error messages etc. One of the reasons I already returned your unit was the following error message: "Device can't found or support yet." You joking must be for sure maybe then already.

Excellent MB

ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Inexpensive board with a good feature set. Installed it in the case, hooked it up and it fired up with no problems. Have it now about 6 mo. and so far, great. Stable, system is fast. All in all just fine.

Cons: The shield for the I/O ports is a disgrace. Any mb costing over $5 should have a better shield than that. Be careful installing it or you could damage something. I find that it can interfere with some of the outputs. The optical cable is tricky to seat at times. The usb seems ok but it looks scary. I also think the drive connectors should have faced another way. The position they are in is just not right. Would I still buy the mb----YES.

Overall Review: The pc is built on the mb, 3570K Intel 4 Core Processor, 256 GB SSD, 750 GB WD Conventional Drive, Win& Ultimate, 16 GB Ripjaw Memory, 750 W PC Power and Cooling PSU. This thing is quick. Boots up in a matter of a few seconds.
