great so far
Pros: This router was extremely easy to set up and works very well so far. It replaced a Linksys WRT610N that often dropped connections and needed regular power cycling. Throughput is quite high and very steady on wired and wireless channels.
Cons: Inability to be mounted is a small nit. I liked that the Linksys fit under a bookshelf invisibly. However, in a location where the old router gave 14% signal (one floor and many rooms away), the Asus gives 74% signal and a faster, more stable connection.
Overall Review: The router came with a free Netgear wireless bridge that made up for the fast that the router is much cheaper at a large membership-only retailer.
doesn't read all formats
Pros: Looks good, reads many formats, lots of ports (too many actually for most motherboards)
Cons: Does NOT read SDHC so I still have to use USB adapter for my SDHC cards.
fast
Pros: I bought 2 of these for new builds and was very surprised at how fast the OS loads. Programs appear to load faster and, of course, this improves with use. So far, so good.
Cons: none
Overall Review: So far, these drives are performing flawlessly. If you don't want to spring for the cost of an SSD and don't need maximum possible performance, this drive is the way to go.
works well
Pros: Easy setup, works very well. Small, unobtrusive. 4 ports is a bonus
Cons: not so stable using the vertical stand, mine had to be laid flat to stay where I put it.
Overall Review: I used this to connect my television, satellite box and Blu-ray player which only had Ethernet ports to my wireless network. It worked perfectly and throughput for streaming movies was sufficient to give flawless play.
excellent router
Pros: Fast speed, easy setup, gigabit switch. This router has done a splendid job so far. I connect to it with a variety of clients. 4 different Thinkpads work fine, one with an Atheros Wireless B card, one with an Intel 4965AGN card, another with an Intel 2200BG card and one with an Intel 5100N. Amusingly the only connection I have troube with is an old laptop with a Linksys WPC600N card in it.
Cons: none, really. This router has worked fine from day 1. It has some issues connecting with the Linksys wireless adapter (go figure), but not with the Atheros or Intel cards.
Overall Review: An excellent wireless router - much better than the 54G it replaced.
great drive
Pros: Quiet, fast, high capacity, great price.
Cons: None of my drives has failed in more than 4 months. However, to be honest, I purchased retail box drives on sale at a brick and mortar store since most of the troubles seem to be associated with the way they are shipped. Newegg needs to get a clue and pack these drives securely.
