Cool but not quiet

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-1972-KR 4GB SC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-1972-KR 4GB SC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card

Pros: 1342 megahertz Boost clock while in the game stock without in any change in settings with 4 gigabytes of video memory I have no idea how to mod Skyrim to actually use more upgrading from a GTX 670 skyrims GPU usage was usually up to about 70% on this new GTX 970 skyrims usage now is roughly 55% keep in mind my Skyrim is heavily modified this particular graphics card was compatible with the water block from ek for the 670 and the 970 all I had to do was remove my old graphics card from my water clock and put a new one in saving me about $130 because it is literally using the same cooler I can make a direct temperature comparison this card seems to run in game 9'C/10'C LOWER than the 670 did at the time of writing this my current GPU idle temperature is 23 Celsius in the time that I have been playing on this new card I have not seen the temperatures exceed 32 degrees Celsius during the combined test for 3dmark11 my graphics cards temperature reported at 35 Celsius X5000 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970(1x) and Intel Core i5-2500K Processor Graphics Score 4756 Physics Score 6861 Combined Score 5814 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/8960883

Cons: I get a lot of coil whine at any usage over 50% I keep my computer about 25 feet away from me my keyboard and mouse are on long extension cables and I use my television in the front room as my screen at any processor usage above 50% I can hear the coil whine from 25 feet away granted my home is nearly perfectly silent so take that into account

Overall Review: this is a wonderful graphics card and for the price incredible although I do not need to I will continue to play around and see how far I can overclock the card due to the coil whine I would normally RMA the card for a different one but unfortunately I believe at the time of writing I think I got the last one in stock

ASUS ROG STRIX X99 GAMING LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Was working....

Cons: The asus aura software is poorly written The asus ramcache is just a windows program that can only cache a single drive, and makes windows 10 like to fail to shutdown properly.

getting 0 ZERO to - 50 Megabytes a second..

Pros: It "works' for the most part

Cons: More unstable than a 3-year-old running around inside a Starbucks with a latte

Overall Review: This board coupled with a 13900K 64 gigs of Corsair memory and a brand new Samsung SSD I've had nothing but problems I don't know if I should be blaming Windows 11 or this board The included applications are just terrible, coming from an ASUS board Windows decides to eat itself every few minutes Windows explorer crashes and takes out the start bar Network devices are on the Fritz Windows nuked itself in the first week and I reinstalled I think I'm going to pursue a return and try to get an ASUS board like I should have in the first place

my unit working great

MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card RTX 2080 TI SEA HAWK EK X
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card RTX 2080 TI SEA HAWK EK X

Pros: used curve automatic overclocking getting 2100mhz+ no issues sofar.

Cons: takes 3 power connectors is really large overall

Overall Review: i play at native 4k and this card for the most part is keeping me above 60fps i think ill be more than fine till the next generation hits. havn't bothered with any of the ray-tracing stuff minus a benchmark here and there

5.1ghz on 4 cores oc, 5.0 on all 8

Intel Core i9 9th Gen - Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake 8-Core, 16-Thread, 3.6 GHz (5.0 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I99900K Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630
Intel Core i9 9th Gen - Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake 8-Core, 16-Thread, 3.6 GHz (5.0 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I99900K Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630

Pros: full overkill waterloop cant quite get to 5.1 all core but happy none the less 499 with a promo sale haven't seen a temp above 70' (overkill cooling) cine-bench of 2047 sofar at all cores 5ghz (thats like 40% oc over stock 3.8)

Cons: price, the 8c16t ryzen 2700x is like $200+ cheaper and like 15% weaker in games

Overall Review: if you have the cash to spend, and are the type like me, who has to have the best of the best just because then go for it if you are just gaming grab the 9700k
