In case of emergency . . .
Pros: Great for the price! Worth having around if you think a hard drive might kick it soon. I use for an occasional backup with a retired laptop drive. Work perfect for my purposes.
Cons: Cheap price --> cheap build. Hard drive is a little loose inside, beware when carrying around frequently. You get what you pay for, but this is a great product for the price!
Overall Review: CHEAP! Not perfect. CHEAP! Does what it needs to do.
Wife's Happy
Pros: Wife's a Toshiba fan, and their laptop's are competitively priced. Right now this is the sweet spot in terms of size/resolution of screen. HUGE screen for the price, which was her priority. Marginally better battery life as graphics are done by Intel HD instead of . Although AMD fan at heart, this notebook had the more powerful processor that the AMDs albeit the Intel HD graphics instead of the Radeon HD 4250. Sound is excellent, I don't expect more from a laptop. Surprisingly light and fabulously large. Will be a treat to carry around, but ours likely won't leave the house often (have a netbook as well). Trackpad very pleasing to use. Appropriately sensitive, textured to make it stand out from case. Mouse buttons (slate colored rather than purple as in photos) are large and loud, doesn't bother me, kinda appreciated.
Cons: Haven't taxed the graphics, but was not a priority for me. Research the Intel HD vs Radeon 4250 which all the AMD Satellites have. Plays full screen video with ease. Battery life is as advertised, but then why are you hauling this monster so far? Included Toshiba utility (read "bloat") provides real-time wattage usage which varies greatly with screen brightness. Come with typical bloatware, no more no less, what'd you expect?
Overall Review: Got it <$600. Eggcellent deal. Watch for price fluctuations. i3-370M, 2 cores, 4 threads.
Keeps working
Pros: Works. Have yet to spot a drop in voltage. Overclocked Athlon II X4 630 (2.8 GHz) to 3.45 GHz (albeit no increase in CPU voltage), completely Prime95 stable. Quiet. Sleevings greatly appreciated. Great value.
Cons: None
Overall Review: 430W will run most systems. Do the research.
Excellent
Pros: FYI Rosewill is Newegg's store brand, I've always had good luck with their low prices on many items. Came back to buy another one as my current one is on its last leg. Currently at 3445 pages on the current toner and starting to print lighter. Let me repeat that: 3445 pages
Cons: Not a Brother product. Some would look at this as a con. Everyone else is smart ;-)
Overall Review: As mentioned, came back to purchase again.
Nice Stick!
Pros: Dropped right in to a Foxconn Barebones no problem. Great for mobo's with one memory slot "requiring" 2 GB ram. SUPER LOW-PROFILE!! Great for airflow in small cases.
Cons: Price could come down any day now . . . .
1.5 TB, 32 MB cache, XP-happy
Pros: Main drive in home server where HDD performance not an issue, but storage space and power requirements critical. Cool drive, performs adequately.
Cons: EADS drives have the old format with 32 MB cache where the new EARS drives have 64 MB cache and the new "advanced format." XP requires that you "align" the new drives, so I went with this one simply for peace of mind.
Overall Review: Better than the EACS, less complicated than EARS. Newegg for life!
