Rosewill ARMOR-EVO - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX MBs - Six (6) Pre-Installed Fans: 2 x Front Red LED 120mm, 2 x Top 120mm, 1 x Side 230mm, 1 x Rear 120mm (Supports Up to 9)

Pros: -Fits E-ATX -Included fans -Drive trays and their placement -Smaller vertical size than other cases for E-ATX -PRICE! For my build, this was perfect. Home server, Dual 1366 board to host 2 xeon x5690s, Supermicro X8DTi-F e-atx board. I chose to host my drives on the cheap inside the case itself versus NAS. I Fit 10 SATA drives in this with ease. I did have a 4 hard drive insert for the 3 front drive slots. So a 12 physical core, 24 virtual server on the cheap. Plenty of rooom for power supply and wire routing on backside of case. Not sure what others were complaining about. I'd challenge you to find a less expensive, solid server case that does the job. If you have many drives in your case, pay close attention to other cases drive bay layouts. Some are taller, but don't accommodate as well or as many. If you're on a budget like me, get a SATA controller card and get up to 10 directly attached drives, use StableBit DrivePool to give you simple redundancy and their Scanner to monitor your drives. Not affiliated, just love the JBOD approach, ability to set how many copies to span across your drive array (x2, x3, x4 ..xN) keeping drives standard NTFS.

Cons: Really no cons at this price, just tweaks I guess: - Power button on top of case. Not a good idea. I leaned on it and even with 4 sec. delay set it powered down. Murphy's law :) - All the fans are 3 wire so always on, constant speed. For a server not bad, but my server boards has 4 pin so would have been nice to allow smart control of them.

Overall Review: I bought when a rebate was in effect. Well actually, page showed rebate up to a date, but I didn't click through and bought before the start date. Newegg honored the 20 buck rebate anyway as a credit. Newegg is my go to site for computer components. They stand behind their customers better than any other tech. site I've dealt with to date.

~220 Hours on the unit, HDMI goes bad

ACER H5360 720P 1280x720 2500 ANSI Lumens NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready Home Theater DLP Projector
ACER H5360 720P 1280x720 2500 ANSI Lumens NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready Home Theater DLP Projector

Pros: Was a great little projector while it worked for it's short life.

Cons: HDMI input is dead after less than 250 hours on the unit. That's less than 1/10th of the life of a single bulb!!! Acer wants me to spend $200 on an out of warranty product repair. This is a somewhat known issue if you research online this model and Acer denies knowing or caring about it. NEver again Acer. You've lost a consumer AND a business buyer. I'm a business owner as well.

Overall Review: Buyer beware on Acer products. If you are out of warranty, you are completely out of luck and expect to spend $$$ just to reach a person to talk in their pay upfront post warranty support model. Factor an extended warranty into your price (a necessity from this experience) and you might want to consider another manufacturer that stands behind their product.

Have one, got another...

Mediasonic ProBox 4 Bay 3.5” SATA Hard Drive Enclosure – USB 3.0 & eSATA Support 12TB HDD UASP / SMART (HF7-SU3S3)
Mediasonic ProBox 4 Bay 3.5” SATA Hard Drive Enclosure – USB 3.0 & eSATA Support 12TB HDD UASP / SMART (HF7-SU3S3)

Pros: - Least expensive unit that clearly states it will support 8Tb drives so we have the ability to upgrade - eSata/USB 3.0 - For those that don't need true RAID and just JBOD, this is a great choice - My workstation laptop, a Dell M4600, does not have an eSATA port multiplier, BUT I am able to add an expresscard slot along with a Startech ECESATA254F, dual eSATA express card for $35 total and drive two of these enclosures at max. speed possible! Nice!!! - Since I'm trying to have a psuedo, portable server setup these are great for the use - Very small footprint and metal case shell helps with heat dissapation (I assume) - Selectable settings for fan (auto or 3 manual speeds) I have auto now

Cons: - There could have been an air inlet in the front door to properly bring airflow across the drives. The design does not have any front air inlets. A simple solution was to put something thin to shim the front case door open 1/4 inch. I can feel a nice flow of air now into the front. A compromise, but simple solution. If you're handy, you could probably just drill a series of holes in the plastic case door along the bottom and add a thin foam filter behind the door. - When I initially set this up, I had the sync enabled (turns off enclosure if the attached pc goes into sleep mode) and while my laptop didn't go to sleep the enclosure was powering down. I'm not sure if this was because the laptop went into a power saving mode for the USB controller/ports which triggered that, but I held the sync button in for a few seconds and it turned amber, not sure what that means, held again/more time and the sync light went off. Have not had a problem since. - Would have been 5 stars if not for the poor airflow design

Overall Review: - The eSATA cable is included, but isn't the longest I've seen. I think it's 3 feet, you may need 6 foot cable if your placement is far. - For what it is, I'm pretty impressed and got a second one - FYI for those not too familiar with eSATA...There is no port multiplier integrated in this enclosure. If you want all the drives to be seen by your laptop or PC, your eSATA port must have a port multiplier integrated OR you have to get a card with eSATA ports that has port multiplier built in. I have to get an expresscard since I have a laptop and don't have true PCIe slots. Be sure to look for the port multiplier capability in any PCIe/expresscard you buy for this if you're not using USB 3.0. - I'll report if there are any issues in an update should they arise - I got a second one instead of going to one 8 bay unit. By the way, the Mediasonic 8 bay model, H82-SU3S2, appears to support large drives with 6Tb confirmed and possibly 8Tb as well. That box was marked with max size it supported with the largest available drives at the time. Check the Q&A on the unit. That may be more suitable for your setup if you are strictly limited to only one eSATA or USB 3 port. I have two eSATA, so just got a second. - The fan is quiet. Some other folks may have gotten ones with bad/low quality fans but mine is fine. If an issue arises, my understanding is that the fan is a standard size and can be swapped for another. Pro tip: If you do swap, pay attention to the fan wires. 4 wires (versus 3) usually means PWM (pulse width modulation) which is geek speak for variable speed capability. I'd assume it is given the auto/multi-speed settings. Good luck with your setup and hope this helps!

Great price, be aware of connectors

SPARKLE GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card RXX460768D5-NM
SPARKLE GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card RXX460768D5-NM

Pros: Price to performance is tops if you are OK with refurbs. Wanted highest end 3D vision capable card for HTPC that gets powered down when not in use that could be swapped out down the road to a secondary PC and be gaming capable.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: 2 DVI and one MINI hdmi port. No adapter to standard HDMI provided in refurb :(
