Actiontec PWR511K01 so-so

Pros: - Plug-and-play - Small form factor - Cross-vendor compatible (mix and match w/ other standards-based models from other manufacturers) - Acceptable throughput depending on electric wiring
Cons: - Expensive - Excessive heat buildup - Short life (units lasted 4 months, 9 months, and 10 months) - Warranty requires consumer to pay for return shipment
Overall Review: Got a couple of sets while on sale, but still not considered inexpensive. Price would've been fair if not for the units failing relatively quickly. 3 out of 4 units have failed. I returned a pair/kit under warranty (you'll need to ship back a kit even if only 1 unit failed, at your own expense). They'll ship an RMA replacement kit once they receive your units. You can expedite this by cross-shipping -- they take your credit card information and ship you the RMA replacement kit, giving you upto 30 days to return the faulty units otherwise they'll charge you. So, yay, I'll have to deal with this again by shipping back another kit. NOTE: A kit will be sequential serial numbers, hence why I shipped a bad unit and a good unit as a kit.
