Pros: Whadda beast! Not for the faint hearted case or puny PSUs. It's huge even in an Antec 1200. Thanks goodness for SSDs and 2.5" HDDs.
Extremely quiet. Use 2x 8 pin power connection.
Preliminary tested BF3 with factory settings and ULTRA except for 2 non critical choices. Stunning night 'n day improvement over replaced GTX650.
Render ahead set 2, fps capped to 125, it felt like it was totally laid back, just getting started. On full COOP play (6 episodes) and Caspian fps general +/- 80, peaks +/- 115.
highest vid memory use 2697, high temp 68°C, power use 76%.
Max FX8350 use 52%
Cons: I didn't buy another one for SLI (yet).
I did feel better by lifting support the R side with zip ties as it does sag in the slot.
Documentation how to oc is lacking
Other Thoughts: FX8350 oc'd 4.5 (stock fan), ASUS Formula V
16Gb Ripjaw 2133, 1080w PSU
PNY SSD + 2 WD Raptor support and 5G page
Win7 Pro 64
Antec 1200 case, Samsung 23" + 21" Viewsonic monitors
Pros: Had this about a year - it is superb.
Have had it oc'd to 4.794 on ASUS Formula V, silk slick but currently 4.494 as Battlefield3 just won't handle it any higher which is BF3's detraction, not the chip..
I must have the pick of the litter on stock AMD fan. I'm not anywhere near deaf so I've never understood the flak on the fan because at 5 feet distance I can barely hear it in any well constructed case (currently Antec 1200). The 6 case fans plus the top helicopter fan far exceed any cpu cooler noise.
During winter with ambient temp 21°C it runs idle 33ish; under BF3 stress the maximum ever seen is 52°C. Summer ambient is 28°C but untested in the Antec 1200.
Cons: Bought at 2013 prices
Other Thoughts: Like the saying for the M1Carbine, "ya' just can't beat it".READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Runs smooth, cool and most quiet heatsink/fan ever (as was the FX4350).
Using an open side panel Antec server case I hear nothing beyond 4' distance.
Fall/winter ambient 21C/70F, idles 20-22, highest BF3 temp 61C/142.
Summer (no air condition) was ambient 28C/83, idle 23ish, highest BF3 65C/149.
Runs only slightly higher with high disk maintenance tasks.
Cons: Can't give 6 stars
With just shy of 1 year use - none
Other Thoughts: Asus Crossfire V-Z, 8G Ram set 1866 - manual OC 235x20 gives a settled, stable clock at 4714.
Using PNY SSD, 3 WD Raptors, GTX650Ti SSC
