Standard issue, standard function
Pros: - Works. Read/Write speed on SATA6G very good. Install and backup disks went fast. Comes with Nero 10.
Cons: - For the same price, I could have bought a drive with LightScribe (but the reviews there said the drive face wasn't very black, which is the only thing that matters, right?).
After you manage to install, works well
Pros: Very stable and connects well to Motherboard. Cooling appears excellent. Looks very nice.
Cons: It's large. If I had a RAM in DIMM A1 on my Asus P67 Sabertooth, it would be touching the fan. It's also quite a monster to install. I was hoping the cut out on my Cooler Master 932 would give me enough back panel access to secure the brace, but you actually need to turn the nut, not just hold it steady. That, combined with a nut size that didn't seem to fit anything but their special tool, meant I had to remove the MB to install. The X-brace is also tough to manage.
Overall Review: There's got to be a better way to set this up so the install is easier. I watched videos, I read the 'manual,' and it still took more time than any other part of my build.
Worked great for 6 months...
Pros: Worked great, saved space, easy to install, charges fast.
Cons: After 6 months of use, the USB ports stopped working. Tried multiple cords, multiple devices (iPhone, ipad, android) and nothing from either port. You might think its still useful, since it turns 2 outlets into 3, but they're so close together that you can only use two if you plan on plugging in your phone adapters...
Overall Review: I rarely used the fold out trays. I wanted to install this in the living room for guests and personal use, but it was too big and didn't play well with an adjacent light switch. Moved to bedroom and still used it daily until it quit working.
Smart pick
Pros: - Pivoting sockets is brilliant. - Lots of sockets. - Clear, bright lights for power/protected. - Looks pretty good
Cons: - It's plastic. I mean, I knew that, but it doesn't look *quite* as good in real life as in the picture due to the obvious plastic nature.
Overall Review: Still a smart buy.
Exactly what I wanted
Pros: - Works. - Works really well. - Upgraded from an old AMD single core. This is a thing of beauty.
Cons: No cons.
Overall Review: I was tempted to splurge for the i7, even though many say it's worthless unless you're doing super high end video editing/transfer. Glad I went for the i5. This thing really flies. If there is a faster speed, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Plus the $100 went to a better video card and aftermarket cooling.
The Star Destroyer of cases
Pros: - This case is HUGE. Also, HEAVY. - Airflow is incredible. Air coming out the top fan feels colder than the air in the room. How is that even possible? - I had no trouble with fans, LED light, or front panel (see front panel restart issues with other users). - Both side panels removable, which is AMAZING, and makes for a great cable management system.
Cons: - CPU rear access hole didn't match the CPU area of my ASUS P67 Sabertooth, which would have been fine except my CPU and heat sink (CM212) didn't arrive until last. Impossible to install the CM212 without better access to the rear of the MB. Had to pull everything out.
Overall Review: I'm gearing up to play SW:tOR, and this matches the feel of the Fury class interceptor like it was designed that way. The red LED completes the Sith theme. LOVE this case.
