Great Price

KINGWIN ADP-02 HDMI Female (19 pin) to DVI-D Male (24+1 pin) Adapter
KINGWIN ADP-02 HDMI Female (19 pin) to DVI-D Male (24+1 pin) Adapter

Pros: Great price for the product. Seen it for much more and decided to try Newegg. I'm never let down!

Cons: A little snug on the HDMI side but honestly that's probably a good thing...since it doesn't "snap" in or "screw" in a snug fit ensures it doesn't slip out or start to work its way loose.

Overall Review: 5/5

HAWKING HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender
HAWKING HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender

Pros: It does what it says... was very easy to configure and is not noticeably slower in every day use than the original broadcast signal

Cons: I will have to unplug it and power it down occasionally (no more than once or twice a month) when it shows that I'm connected to the range extender but not connected to the internet. Not sure if it's losing the original signal and not picking it back up on it's own or what the deal is. It's not a deal breaker and everyone in the house knows to just unplug and replug when the "internet goes down" on that side of the house

Great, Cheap

Pros: Great little cables. Clip which is nice. 18" was plenty long for a normal sized case.

Cons: None

Great laptop

ASUS ROG G750 Series G750JX-DB71 Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 4700HQ (2.40GHz) 16GB Memory 1TB HDD 256GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M 3GB GDDR5 17.3" Windows 8 64-Bit
ASUS ROG G750 Series G750JX-DB71 Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 4700HQ (2.40GHz) 16GB Memory 1TB HDD 256GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M 3GB GDDR5 17.3" Windows 8 64-Bit

Pros: Coming up on month 3 in ownership and there's not a whole lot to say that hasn't been said. It's very fast when gaming, has loads of RAM for Virtual Machines (if you do that sort of thing), and the CPU is quick enough to not get bogged down when doing processor intensive tasks. 3d rendering is on par with my desktop just about, gaming is on par with my desktop just about, and storage is on par with my desktop. Keyboard has a good feel and is easy to type with. Fullsized numpad and everything is a plus also. Trackpad buttons are like a 7/10 - could be a bit firmer on that part of the keyboards surface. The USB 3 ports are super quick. Cooling is great as long as the rear is open - laying it on a bed quilt or comforter or fluffy surface is a quick way to block these and start feeling the heat escape around the screen and through the keyboard. For comparison sake: my desktop has an AMD 965, AMD 6970 GPU, 8gb RAM, an Intel 240gb SSD and 1tb storage drive. Built myself, it was the bees knees about 2 years ago and still holds it's own in terms of speed and gaming. I use this laptop for work mainly with some gaming and playing on the side. It's a good laptop for a desktop replacement if that's what you're in the market for. Not a whole lot of competition except maybe MSI's offerings and the reviews I read for it pushed me over the edge to the ASUS. Good decision on my part I feel.

Cons: Trackpad - I can't figure out how to get it to act "naturally" like you grow accustomed to with touch-devices like the iPad, etc. What I'm talking about is dragging two fingers down to scroll up, two fingers left to scroll to the right, etc. It seems more natural after having done it that way for so long now and with Windows 8 having it's homescreen laid out horizontally I'd love to be able to swipe left and it scroll to the right (like a touchscreen does). I haven't figured out how to do this yet but will keep searching. The drivers for the touchpad from ASUS's website did offer some extra usability and features that I don't believe were installed from the factory - still don't have my "natural" scrolling movement though. Power Adapter - this thing is massive... granted it's a 180w power adapter so you should expect it to be. Don't know what I thought but I guess I didn't consider it. The laptop itself is big - as can be expected from a 17" desktop replacement. Another thing, this past weekend while playing a game, it started stuttering so I closed the game and noticed that the laptop wasn't "charging" any more according to windows. The game started stuttering because the laptop downclocks itself when it's on battery and not on the adapter. The hardware reason behind this is that the battery can't put the power required out at the rate at which the laptop in full gaming mode - when the adapter is plugged in, it can get the power needed to run the GTX770M and i7 at full blast. I noticed a faint beeping coming from the Power Adapter and turns out after a phone call to ASUS tech support that it was dead. ASUS tech support was very friendly, repeated literally everything I said to ensure he'd heard me correctly, and had me an RMA in about 5 minutes. I'm sending it off today to be repaired/replaced and will be buying a new so I can have two (one for home one for work and in the event this ever happens again). It's a whopping $99 and even though the JX model isn't listed as a supported device on the ASUS estore, they have a 180w Power Adapter with the exact same specs that is reported to be the same as the one that ships with this laptop. Screen - I've got what looks like a faint pencil mark squiggly at the top of the screen... not sure when it got there or now. I've rubbed with a wet finger and it won't come off. I'll give some actual screen cleaning solution a shot and will try a pencil eraser or something. Annoying when I notice it (white screen) but not a turn-off. HDD Format - they split the SSD and 1TB into two partitions each. Not sure why they split the storage up - the SSD is the OS drive so it's for reformatting purposes. Annoying to sift through 4 hard drives to figure out where you saved something.

Overall Review: If newegg had a 1-10 rating instead of a 4-5 I'd have given it a 9/10 instead of a 4/5. $2,000 for a laptop sets really high expectations so it's easy to nitpick and find things that you'd normally dismiss as "well that would've made it cost more or not be as cheap". If ASUS's RMA for the Power Adapter is quick then it'll definitely build value into the $2,000 I spent on this.

Good Seller!

Refurb server was equipped exactly as it said it was going to be. OS was installed and is exactly what it was stated to be. The case had a few minor dents/scratches that had been touched up with a black paint pen or something of the sort - they weren't very noticeable and the box is going to spend it's life in a closet anyway. Overall would definitely purchase from these guys again. Got a great computer for a lot cheaper than I expected to find
