This review is from: SanDisk SDSSDP-256G-G25 2.5" 256GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Pros: Fast. Worked without a problem, no surprises!
Cons: None really. If you want to a pro oem install job on most desktops, you'll need to buy a $3.99 2.5" to 3.5" converter converter for your 3.5" drive bay.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to install as a 64GB caching SSD utilizing Intel Smart Response Technology.
Smart response works with a maximum of 64 GB, and I was looking for a cheap way to improve performance of my new build and this was the least expensive 64GB SSD with a recognizable brand name.
Long story short the disk worked perfectly, was instantly recognized by Windows, and the Smart Response config app.
I made a big difference in the performance of my PC.
I'm completely satisfied with the performance. My cached C: drive read and write speeds match exactly the reviews and benchmarks I've seen where more expensive samsung SSDs are used as the caching SSD.
It doesn't include a 2.5 to 3.5 converter to fit in a desktop drive bay. Honestly, while I was installing it in the converter I bought in addition to the drive, it seemed like complete overkill. If I had it to do again I'd probably just attach it somewhere in the case with velcro or something.
I'm think I'm going to buy another one to breath life in an older thinkpad laptop.
