Junk Drives
Pros: cheap drive vs. size
Cons: Just awful. Bought a ReadyNAS from NewEgg and 4 of these drives in Nov of 2012. 1 drive failed 2 weeks ago. I BOUGHT a replacement to get it quick and before I had a chance to install that drive, a second one failed, blowing up the RAID5 array and stored data. Put in another Seagate drive and when trying to rebuild the array through the ReadyNAS it wouldn't rebuild. Turns out that the utility identified additional errors on a 3rd drive and wouldn't recreate the array around the terminal HD. So now I have 3 in for RMA out of the 4. I have zero confidence in these units and wouldn't purchase them going forward under any circumstances. Run away; buy something (anything) else.
Overall Review: Don't use these drives in any 'mission critical' application. Luckily, I was only using them for backups, so it wasn't catostrophic. only recommend these to people you hate.
