MacBook Pro became a monster

Pros: I had an already blazing fast MacBook Pro 17" 3.06Ghz Core Duo with 8Gb RAM and 7200rpm HD. After installing this, I won't need another computer for many years to come. I record 16 channels of sound using Logic Pro and haven't had any problems before, and it was already fast but now... WOW... loading the audio files and bouncing mixes is stupid fast. The fans turn on now to cool down the CPU, not the HD. Boot times now are at ridiculous 18 seconds after a few days. (OS-X takes a few boots to keep tabs on user preferences after a full time machine restore or clean install).
Cons: Size. Needs to have at least 500Gb for audio applications. Otherwise, no cons but the steep price.
Overall Review: Firmware upgrade a must before anything else. A fresh install of Mac OS-X isn't necessary if you have a time machine backup. Doing a fresh OS-X install is a sure way to have it blazing fast after a few days of use with all the OS upgrades. Just awesome... I almost never use my PC anymore.
Won't install Vista 64.

Pros: It's well designed and looks good.
Cons: Bios is buggy, froze on me several times, snow flakes effect on the screen and all. Impossible to update bios, because the dialog box for such task shows a "yes" and "no" option, and regardless of the choice you make, nothing happens. It boots fine, but will not install Vista 64. It hangs during installation.
Overall Review: Should have gotten an intel.
Better than Mac 30" display.

Pros: Great colors, nice subdue chassis color that won't distract you, LED green light in front of the monitor goes out after a while so it won't draw attention. I really like this monitor and will buy another one soon for my trading.
Cons: I have tried to use the USB hub sometimes but for some reason it is somewhat slower than the other USB ports that I have on my computer. Not really sure why, but it doesn't bother me at all.
Overall Review: I bought this monitor because I do some photoshop work as a hobby and mainly for my daily trading with lots of charts. At its native resolution this monitor offers lots of real estate and the colors are crisp and very stable. Can't go wrong with this monitor, you really get what you pay for.
