Great Value
Pros: 1) Seems to use standard sized beaters, so we lucked out, since this replaced an older unit from a different manufacturer. 2) It is very powerful. 3) So far so good for the past month 4) Happy wife
Cons: 1) Plastic, not a higher end finish (like rosewood or gold) 2) loud (but arent they all?)
Overall Review: Glad we bought it.
Traffic is a mixed bag
Pros: - Traffic is very accurate on freeways/highways. - came with free lifetime map updates - 5 inch screen is amazing - A must have for anyone who does any driving in a car on public roadways :)
Cons: - Traffic will reroute you off the highways if it sees a faster route on the secondaries. BUT it assumes that you will not hit any traffic and you will make all lights. Totally ineffectual. In real terms, the traffic program is a fail. Just watch your estiamted arrival time climb and climb as you sit in snarled traffic on all the side streets.
Overall Review: This is my 3rd Garmin vehicle GPS, but my first with traffic. It will tell me of an accident or congestion ahead, but most of the time there is just nothing you can do about it.
Bought it to flash dd-wrt
Pros: Detachable antennas (however an older directional antenna I have which works with my WRT65G does NOT screw onto this unit. Who'd a thunk it?
Cons: 1) I honestly found a misspelling on the main page of the router GUI. 2) No USB. I would have liked that for a NAS, but not a printer. So many printers now offer wired/wireless networking. I have three and all have networking capabilities.
Overall Review: lots of info. on the interweb concerning this model, and how EXACTLY to flash it with dd-wrt. This is good for me as it was my first router flashing to dd-wrt. In about 10 minutes I went from the ASUS firmware of the router to dd-wrt. The transition from Linksys to Asus was seemless.
Good Deal IMHO
Pros: Price, controller, blue light.
Cons: Blue light, very loud at max speed, controller is at rear of ur box.
Overall Review: I'm a bit of rosewill convert. We're in a recession! For the money, I am pleased. I crank up the fan speed when playing games, then turn it down when not.
