Received DOA

Pros: The RT-N66U is my favorite router, I own 3 of them. Newegg shipped it out the same day. The router arrived in a sealed static bag, all parts were included. It looks brand new. Power cord was coiled up. Asus firmware was just updated again 3/21/13 More features and 3g/4g support. Merlin, Shibby, and Victek have been tweaking the firmware making these routers very robust.
Cons: I rolled the dice again on a refurbished RT-N66U. Unfortunately The unit has a heat related problem. After 15 to 30 minutes powered on The LAN/WAN ports die. The port LED's go out, and all ethernet connections quit. Turn it off and let it cool, then everything works fine for about another 15 minutes, then quits again. I guess I didn't learn my lesson. It's $11 to ship it back RMA, and it will be at least a week before the replacement shows up. I should have just bought a new one. The prior owners config was still in it, just like the last one. Not quite refurbished.
Overall Review: To gain access to the router that has prior owners settings and password. Hold down the WPS button while powering up. This will put it back to default settings. I don't think These units are refurbished Since they come with prior owners config. They probably don't do more than power them up to see if the pretty blue lights come on. The LAN/WAN problem took 15 minutes to show up, so I don't hold

Pros: Delivers rated clean DC
Cons: Lacking RFI filtering. This Power Supply spews excessive radio frequency interference from the A/C power cord. The interference wipes out all nearby radio reception.
Overall Review: This PS was put into a 24/7 computer. I put a wattage use meter on it. It cost about $37 a month! I'm now shopping for the highest rated "80 Plus" to save on electric bill. Will also look for CISPR rated, EN, or Canada EMI rated for low radio interference.
