Pros: The first thing I noticed is how lightweight this laptop it. I started it up and it took a few minutes to load; maybe due to the initial startup procedure and the pre-installed trial software it comes with.; i3-370M 2.40 GHZ processor; makes it very fast. This is my first Acer Laptop; I passed down my reliable Toshiba to my daughter (college student) and replaced it with this one. The full keyboard is nice; but it will take me some time to master the setup. Graphics are great; HD support; good for entertainment. The webcam is nice; not the best; but for Oovoo, Skype and others it should do fine; the microphone is okay; be careful of background noise; TV or music playing. Speakers are not that great; but I figured that before ordering. Ordered this on 09/05/2011 and it arrived on 09/08/11; fast shipping; including the Labor Day Holiday. This system comes with 2GB of memory; order 8GB G-Skill memory for $44 bucks along with the laptop; running like a champ. I have not uninstall

Cons: 2GB Memory (I know that going in) upgrade immediately. The system is all plastic; the cover looks nice; but not durable; handle with care. I replaced the memory; the cover is very flimsy; be careful removing and replacing it. The DVD drive is shaky when ejected; so insert/remove media quickly and close the door. 320GB hard drive; my capacity reads 281; not sure what’s going on with that. Does not come with recovery media; you have to make your own; it takes 3 DVDs & 2 hours; but I had the DVDs & the time. DVD drive is a bit loud; but bearable. The left side heats up pretty good; notice that when I placed my hand beside the fan. Speakers are horrible; it’s a low-end laptop. No HDMI port; but I knew that.

Overall Review: So far I am pleased with my purchased; I’m still in the testing mode. It’s a good machine for the basic to average mature user as it is not durable. It has 3 USB ports and the wireless picked up my network from the start. I don’t know about the battery life at this point. I will probably upgrade the HDD to 500GB in the near future. Everything worked right out of the box and the screen did not appear to have any dead pixels. DVD drive is working properly; it does not have Light Scribe Technology but I knew that going in. I will definitely uninstall MS Office 2010 starter because I have the software. I would recommend this to a friend and if I had to do it over on the same budget I would purchase this laptop again.

Pros: Windows 7 Home Premium

Cons: I purchased this computer for basic use. The system is slow to boot; obviously the hard drive is dying; nearly dead. Needless to say, I've not been able to use it for the intended urposes

Overall Review: If you have another hard drive lying around; then maybe not so bad.

Pros: Set up was a breeze. The wireless connection was easy to set up even on a secure network. I was surprised at the short time it took from out of the box to printing the first document. Documentation and set up instructions were adequate both in print and on cd. The unit itself is lightweight and it did not take up much desk space. I purchased it to replace an old Sharp UX510 fax machine. I like the cordless phone that came with the unit it adds value. The card readers work well as does the ADF. The scans are of a nice quality and clear but somewhat slow, but I can live with that.

Cons: paper tray and door for ink compartment is filmsy, but not much else to speak of

Overall Review: I have not printed on anything else other than standard letter paper so I don't know how it handles envelopes or other media. I have not printed any photos so I don't know about the quality of pictures, but I didn't purchase it for that purpose mainly the fax, scanning and cordless phone feature

Pros: Small, lightweight, compact. Nice for jogging or brisk walks. The faceplates adds to the overall appearance if that sor of thing matters. Many features available such as FM radio and voice recorder

Cons: Hard to read display, but my eyes are not the best

Overall Review: I bought this for my daughter after she washed a very expensive MP3 player, kind of a responsibility lesson. She likes it well enough but she is missing the large screen and other features offered by her now clean dead MP3 player

Pros: Newegg Rocks! Shipping was fast as usual

Cons: Bad product! System does not recognize drive. Drive appears at times and gone on reboot.

Overall Review: Shop for another product! You get what you pay for!
