UPDATED REVIEW

Brother HL-L2340DW Duplex 2400 x 600 DPI Wireless USB Monochrome Laser Printer
Brother HL-L2340DW Duplex 2400 x 600 DPI Wireless USB Monochrome Laser Printer

Pros: Price Performance Apple print Duplex Low cost of toner

Cons: Firmware buggy - please read other throughts

Overall Review: This is a great monochrome printer for the money. With extras like Apple Print, duplexing, wireless, it's a slam dunk. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. I was on 1.07 for a while and performance was very spotty. It would go into a deep sleep when my iOS devices and computer would not see it at all. I took a look at a few things, everything seemed set up correctly. It was after I updated to the latest firmware that the unit was working perfectly. Now all my iOS devices and Windows laptops can see the unit ALL OF THE TIME.

Just OK. Nothing to write home about.

Tom Tom One 130 3.5"GPS Navigation with Spoken instruction
Tom Tom One 130 3.5"GPS Navigation with Spoken instruction

Pros: Excellent price. Good update tool. Was able to update to the latest map using the update tool, Tom Tom Home. Went from 7.5 to 8.3, which is almost a version and a half. Option to shut off screen while driving between turns. It will then turn on before upcoming turn. Neat.

Cons: Meh. The Tom Tom's user interface and graphics look outdated, just not as sharp or modern looking as the bottom line Garmin. Graphics are sub par. Low res. 8-Bit color?. Speaker is a bit tinny sounding. The on button feels like it will eventually sink in and stop working. The mount, although clever, is very stiff...it will give you a workout. I wish it would automatically shut off after you get to your destination, ie; no movement for a designated time should trigger auto shut off. Menu can sometimes be confusing.

Overall Review: I've owned several Garmin's (i3 and Nuvi 200) and have become extremely comfortable with the Garmin user interface, probably the best on the market. I also had some brief experience with Magellan, which I quickly took back to the store I bought it from. For the most part, it's just a plane jane GPS. And for $49.99 after rebate, how can you complain?

AWESOME!!!

D-Link DIR-868L Wireless AC1750 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud Router IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n

Pros: -Easy setup -Reliable -USB 3.0 -Able to slave 6TB off this (WOW!!)

Cons: -Cannot DD-WRT without losing features -Kinda ugly?

Overall Review: Got this on a deal....paid only $45. Slick deal!!! I intended on loading DD-WRT, but after reading many reviews that stated I would lose options. I stuck with the base firmware. Base firmware isn't bad. Very basic. Anybody with half a brain can set this up. No instructions needed. I seriously didn't think I would be able to slave a huge 6TB drive off this, but it works lady's and gents. Works great. Transfer speeds are good. No longer get buffer issues when watching media from this drive. Very fast. Especially when paired with an AC wireless device. Transfer speeds to my 6TB drive are fast. Faster than what I had, so I'm very happy. It's not LAN quick...or wireless to wireless quick, but it's good for me. I think their may be a bottleneck going from wireless to USB. But it was at least 4x faster than what I was used to, so I'm very happy with its performance.

DD-WRT

NETGEAR N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router R4500-Factory Refurbished
NETGEAR N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router R4500-Factory Refurbished

Pros: DD-WRT compatible Fast unit Good USB speeds - about 4MB/s $ - cheap money

Cons: Big unit. Really big. USB 2.0

Overall Review: Didn't bother with the factory installed OS, was able to flash to R4500 then flash DD-WRT. Solid unit. Been up for several months without issue. Slaving a 2TB drive for data. Transfer speeds are way better than my old Linksys e3200.

Wow, Nice.

Kingston 32GB DataTraveler SE9 G2 USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 100MB/s (DTSE9G2/32GB)
Kingston 32GB DataTraveler SE9 G2 USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 100MB/s (DTSE9G2/32GB)

Pros: Small form factor USB 3.0 100MB/s + reads Price - $12 Solid metal construction

Cons: Write speeds about 16MB/s, meh. As advertised though.

Overall Review: I absolutely love this USB thumbdrive. I thought for sure it would be bigger, like about the size of a pack of gum. Not the case. It's way smaller. It's about as wide as a popsicle stick and about two inches long. Super compact. The solid metal construction is EXCELLENT. I have no doubt this will last a while on my keychain. I've been buying Kingston SSD's for a while, and have never had any problems with them. I don't expect any issues with this drive. Will update in a few months.
