Crucial 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT51264BC1339

Pros: Price... DDR3... It works.... Nothing more to say.

Cons: none

The Ne Plus Ultra of Netbooks

Acer Aspire One AO522-BZ897 Diamond Black AMD Dual-Core Processor C-50 (1.00 GHz) 10.1" 1GB Memory 250GB HDD Netbook
Acer Aspire One AO522-BZ897 Diamond Black AMD Dual-Core Processor C-50 (1.00 GHz) 10.1" 1GB Memory 250GB HDD Netbook

Pros: Oh... where to start. AMD Ontario C-50 dual core with integrated Radeon 6250 graphics. Fusion is a wonderful thing....! Light weight, portability, decent build quality and good looks!

Cons: Windows 7 Starter... Windows 7 Starter... Windows 7 Starter...!!! I know that everyone feels the same way, but I had to say it three more times. Maybe that will make it go away!... lol! I have performed most of the known tricks, but still am not satisfied with Starter. This does not reflect on Acer, it is on Microsoft. They know most true computer people with upgrade. What a horrible way to make and extra buck Microsoft. Shame on you!

Overall Review: You MUST upgrade the RAM if you want this machine to perform. I dropped in: [Crucial 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT51264BC1339] from Newegg and it works like a dream. Why 4GB? Eventually, I plan to upgrade to 7 Home Premium so that the OS will read all 4GB but until then, some thoughts: The Fusion chip has 256MB dedicated to the Radeon Graphics. This means that only about 750MB of RAM is left for the machine. After the 4GB upgrade, 7 starter alots the 256M to the graphics and a full 2GB of RAM now to the machine. If you are going to upgrade, get a 4GB stick. I have the RAM upgrade, removed most of the bloatware, used a Crucial C6 8GB SD for Readyboost and this puppy flies! No difference in it and most notebooks. The only real reason I did not give it 5 stars is that, upon un-boxing, I notice a mark on the touchpad. Not really a scratch, but as if a plastic screwdriver marred the surface. Not enough to send back, but frustrating.

Works for ReadyBoost

Transcend 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TS8GSDHC6
Transcend 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TS8GSDHC6

Pros: Great price, true Class 6 (some other brands claiming Class 10 are not as fast as this!) Works as advertised

Cons: None that I can see.

Overall Review: Less than $11 shipped for arguably the best SD card on the market for use with Windows ReadyBoost. Great product and, of course, Newegg is the best!
