9800gt in 3w sli
Pros: It is still running strong. The update wizard for MSI stopped working. No updates for the update wizard.................
Cons: Temp on the onboard gpu is still running 90C+. But it is still a false reading. 2 people now with the same problem sounds like MSI needs to look at the QA staff.
Overall Review: I don't know what you did but the 9800GT cards do not run 3 way sli. Only the 9800GTX+. The 9800 is a re-branded 8800 card just like the gts250 is a re-branded 9800gtx. If you do not have a bridge on it you are also not in 3 w sli.
Not 18.4 inch laptop like it says
Pros: looks nice
Cons: Does not fix an MSI GT83 Titan. Not even close.
Fiber
Pros: It's fiber. I make the stuff.
Cons: Rip off for the price. We throw 10' sections in the garbage because they are nearly impossible to shoot with an OTDR. If you can find the fiber type out that would be your best bet. single mode- AB cheapest practically give it away multi-mode- CB 62.5 micron ok multi-mode XB 50 micron the best stuff best is DB specs and attenuation are very high. we don't even run fiber under 300' do to copper being almost as good.
not 3way sli
Pros: 3 way sli consists of 3 video cards with an external bridge connecting all 3 cards together. 2 way sli consists of 2 cards with an external bridge. a card not on the bridge is running as a physics card and is NOT a part of the sli bridge. If you could run 3 way or even 2 way without the bridge than we wouldn't even have a bridge for the cards. your terminology is wrong. your running 2 way sli w/ physics not 3 way. If you look at the stats physics doesn't do that much for ya. Ya get more running 3 way. I run 3 GTX 285 cards on my I7.
Cons: I wish MSI did include a 3 way bridge. but the Mobo is lacking in a lot of extras that a lot of other venders throw in on there motherboards. Stupid onboard is still saying 90C but still running great. MSI has an online updater if anyone has crash problems with the cd version they send with the pc.
DOA
Pros: Looks nice. 1 egg
Cons: DOA............................
Not Bad
Pros: This is part 2 of what I started writing. Fired up the system and everything did what it was supposed to. Had windows up in running quick and went through the drawn out art of loading all the other junk. The board was a little akward for my set up do to the case size and I needing to mount the board upside down. With 2 big radiators and 6 feet of water tubing plus all the power connections it got real tight. But in a standerd aircooled case or larger with a normal mount there wouldn't be any issues. The onboard sound is just as good as my X58 EVGA board. The PCI slots are at a good spacing to run sli and not clutter your self to bad. On that 5 eggs. I like the board for what it is. An inexpensive AMD platform for my wife. That will game almost as good as a high dollar Intel platform (Don't tell my wife I went cheap). Easy to build and very user friendly so I don't have to build another X58 6 grand monster I say go for it if you must have Nvidia like me.
Cons: Now for the bad. on board chip set temp monitor for the 980 is reading 102C this is wrong I confirmed it with 2 temp probes. so out of the box and talking with tech support the onboard monitor is DOA. Not going to RMA the board. It's going to be a pain to pull apart and not worth it. it would take at least a day of careful work to drain the water pull the hardware and prep the board to go back. The only other thing is that MSI gives you Norton. As far as I'm concerned Norton is the Devil. You lost an egg MSI sorry
Overall Review: AMII x2 550 Black 4 HDDS 1 gts250 4 gigs patriot gamer ram and a lot of water cooling from Danger Den
