Centralized Return Center?

Pros: 2.4ghz i3 chip, 7200 rpm hdd, HDMI output, wireless-n
Cons: Newegg lists this laptop as having the Ralink b/g/n wireless when in-fact, mine has a Broadcom. This proved frustrating when installing 64-bit W7 and the Ralink drivers were not working. Windows 7 inbox drivers did not identify the wireless device and HP has about 7-8 drivers on their website for this model. I had to systematically go through one by one until one worked. 2g RAM but I will upgrade it to 4g for $40. :) Windows 7 x32 - Why use a 32bit OS for a 64bit processor? No OS disc came with the box but I was planning to use a spare 64bit W7 disc I had on hand.
Overall Review: I also noticed on the shipment box it came in had a covered label "Centralized Return Center". This along with some smudges on the screen concerns me that my product was refurbished? :( I may post a video later as to how to upgrade the RAM by removing the motherboard.
Working 10% of the time now

Pros: Was great while it worked. Originally bought in 2013. I reviewed this originally 3/17/2014 4:41:08 PM and here is my follow-up
Cons: In the last week, it has taken a turn from bad (having to be reset weekly) to worse (having to be reset every couple of hours at times). I've noticed the same hardware fault that other reviewers have claimed: The fan on the bottom never works, therefore, the device overheats. Registering this device on WD's site was a bit of a pain. The device itself has a self-registration button (via the web gui) that never worked. When this device started showing consistent failures (each day), I decided to visit the WD portal to check the warranty. The warranty lookup page is buggy and has a cheerio that keeps spinning when it tries to insert your S/N into their database. I also had a difficult time submitting a support ticket via their portal (same cheerio hangup). I browsed the support forums and found i was not alone in that some others have post about the same behavior. I finally managed to register the product but it's been just over a year. WD's emailed response is that the device is out of warranty and they cannot replace it (even though I had their manufacturer response on newegg during the warranty period). Tough call, but business is business.
Overall Review: I am now having second thoughts about WD as a reputable brand.
2014 and showing signs

Pros: Got this card in 2009 (see my review) and this card is finally showing signs of wear. It seems to overheat during BF3 (high settings), Guild Wars (higher settings), and causes machine to stop responding (error with display driver responding) and sometimes correct itself. Other times, it will completely crash and I'd have do a hard reboot. Replacing with a GTX 760 this week. :-)
Cons: big, hot, and ati drivers are not always the best.
Overall Review: Couldn't have asked for a better card though, this thing came out in 2008 and it's 2015 (almost) and i'm ready to upgrade.
Video card issues

Pros: AMD - Cheap, worked as advertised
Cons: Unfortunately, bought this 8/24/2010 and over the last several months, I've had random blue screens, video card related issues. Well, after swapping out 3 video cards, running memtest, the problem still exists and it appears to be the motherboard. I read that other reviewers noted they also had video troubles stemming from the board.
Overall Review: Frustrating to diagnose. Counting on the RMA.
Died under 2 years.

Pros: Good power, quiet
Cons: Started failing under 2 years. Bought 6/6/2011 and it's now 4/29/2013. Started making crackling noises this week when I turned on the power to my machine. Machine won't power on occasionally. RMAing the PSU to avoid damaging other components.
Overall Review: Not sure about OCZ, I read online that they use cheap capacitors.
Great Card for the money

Pros: Very fast. I went from an EVGA 7800 to this ATI 4870 and it is a huge improvement. Windows 7 Experience for *graphics went from 5.5 to 7.4 (out of 7.9) HL2 Video stress test went from 59.77 to 289 on high settings (only difference was the card). Resident Evil 5 fixed/variable Benchmarks went from 30 to 100 fps Crysis plays at High settings (note: not Very High) beautifully. Windows 7 64bit Core i7 920 @ 2.7ghz ASUS Ati 4870 FoxConn Renaissance 6 gig triple channel ram 1600mhz 80gig 10,000 RPM
Cons: It's huge!
Overall Review: People keeping commenting on the heat. You will need airflow in your case due to these cards being so large. To give you an idea, I have a full tower server sized case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133154) with 4 fans and my i7 920 runs around 38-43c while the 4870 runs between 40-50c idle. Be smart - make sure you have airflow. Make sure you have room around the card. I had to move it 2 pci slots down because it would be blowing right up against my wireless card. Drivers downloaded off ATI site. No major bugs so far.
