Best router I've ever owned.
Pros: Price. 13.99 after rebate. It's so small! I had 18 torrents running with over 1200 simultaneous connections and it worked like a champ. It supports multiple SSID's and seperate feature (which allows you to create a public network that cannot access the private wireless network)! So cool.
Cons: The range isn't that great, but it works for my house. Doesn't have lights to show a link on each ethernet port (I don't care). I read they make a HP (high powered version of this router) if you need range over 50 feet you'll probably want that one.
Overall Review: This is the best router I've ever owned. It just replaced a FreeBSD box with two network cards. I can't believe I've finally found a router that can handle over a thousand simultaneous connections and not lock up. I love this router. The seperate feature in wireless settings is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I had never even heard of that before purchasing this router. I'm going to get another one of these for 13.99. I am so happy with this router. Thank you Buffalo!
DOA
Pros: None.
Cons: Dead on arrival. Wouldn't power up my 3.5" PATA HD (tested HD after this and powered up fine on a computer), so I tested the pins coming out of the power adapter for this with my volt meter. The 5 volt pin worked, but the 12 volt pin was dead. Junk.
Overall Review: I really need one of these. I paid $5.45 shipping (USPS) to send this back. I choose to gamble and exchange to avoid an extra 15% restocking fee for a refund. If I get another dead one I'm not going to bother sending it back, it's not worth it. This is the most disappointing product I have ordered from Newegg. Look for something else.
35MB read. 15MB wite.
Pros: Price. Got it for $8. No cap. Caps suck. Looks cool.
Cons: Since this is at a low price point 35MB read 15MB write. Not a speed demon.
Overall Review: For the price it's the best. I've got yumi with about seven different OS's. They all work fine. I would buy again, and recommend this.
Lots of config options for $15
Pros: Wireless N, easy to configure. Lots of configuration options like assigning IP's to MAC addressess (wish every router had this).
Cons: While simple to configure, every configuration seems like it wants to disconnect the router from the Internet and reconnect it (so it takes about 45 seconds). Also, I couldn't get the configuration screen to come up without it being connected to a WAN (the internet plugged in). It locks up on a detecting WAN url link.
Overall Review: I got it for 14.99 and was going to buy two more of these just to have them at such a cheap price, but now just two days later the price jumped up $10.00 so I won't be ordering them.
Works great on my Nintendo Wii.
Pros: My HP stick transferred files at 4MB this copies my Wii games at 14.4MB on my USB 2.0
Cons: USB devices that block nearby ports are stupid. I could tell by the picture this would be the case, but it doesn't matter since it's being used on my Nintendo Wii.
modded my wii
Pros: Price. Works with Nintendo Wii.
Cons: Slowed to about 118K/sec after about 15MB. Since the only purpose was to modify my Nintendo Wii it doesn't matter.
